Received some information from the PR folks for UBCO Bikes NZ so decided to post here:

A New Zealand startup success story — taking innovation to the world

Kiwi companies have an excellent and well-earned reputation for their ability to punch above their weight, and UBCO embodies this through its proven track record and global ambitions. Founded in 2015, UBCO has scaled rapidly over the past 12 months, already doubling staff numbers in 2021 and expecting to triple next year. Success at each stage means redefining what the next goal is, and UBCO is now eyeing up cracking $1 billion in revenue by FY26 with the help of its $US30m Series B raise that’s currently underway.

The frontrunner in the global EV race — with a core focus on utility

As appetite grows for sustainable transport options, UBCO provides electric utility vehicles that are tough, lightweight, quiet, sustainable and safe to use. With EV adoption expected to grow over 10 times in the next 10 years, UBCO is proving to be the preferred choice for many applications both on and off the road.

The world’s toughest, greenest bikes

UBCO’s hero product, the UBCO 2X2, is an all-wheel drive electric motorbike and is used for adventure recreation, agriculture, food delivery and much more.

The 2X2 is no ordinary bike – it’s an intelligent EV platform that includes vehicle and power systems, telemetry, cloud connectivity and data analysis. This enables UBCO to disrupt the conventional business model through subscription where instead of buying it outright, businesses and consumers pay a subscription covering the vehicle, battery and servicing while UBCO retains ownership and stewardship.

An entirely new benchmark for sustainable product development and end-of-life

UBCO predict its subscription model will increase vehicle lifespan four times and produce 80% less carbon (during use) compared to a combustion vehicle, thus making the vehicles a more sustainable transport option.

At the end of the day, the best way to reduce impact on the planet is to make products that last longer. UBCO is extremely considered in building a product that will last through heavy duty applications and then end of life, where it ensures that the product is modular enough so it can be broken down into its composite parts to be dealt with in the right way.  UBCO's design is already much more modular, repairable, and limited in its use of single use materials than others on the market.

Electric off-roading in the last section of that video. I'd be really into that.
