I don't see a thread dedicated to this one (mods - if so, let me know!). We were told on the weekend that we will probably be receiving ours in the middle of December. Unfortunately the V2L module isn't available here yet. Really want that, we can use it to run the water pump and our computers when the power goes out. Possibly fridge & freezer too but it generally isn't out for long enough for that to matter.

I take it that's the connector accessory (which you have to purchase separately) you're referring to?

I've also been told mine will arrive in December (better than March!) but hadn't looked at this as I don't think I have a need for it. Evcables.com has them - US$167.00 + shipping.

Edit: you'd also need an adaptor plug, pita...

We have the 1st gen ZS EV.
Love it.
Had it for about 7 months now and approx 18,500kms travelled.

Did a 700ish km trip over the weekend.
No issues except for one charger not working in Christchurch so had to carry on to the next one.

Parents are waiting on their one to arrive which they were told would be this month.

Yes, but as you've already noted, you'd need an adapter for that one so I can wait for the official release.

According to the local MG dealer, they should be available sometime in Q1 next year.

Quite a timely start of thread for me. Arrived in Wellington yesterday and ordered a Corporate Cab to the CBD and it turned out that it was a MG EV. Seems like a bice vehicle and has converted the "Finance Committee"  to EVs .  Talked to the cab owner who had had it about 12 months and spoke highly of it.   Moving to Tauranga in  the new year may trade my Mazda CX 5 to one of these

Got an email from the local dealer yesterday, apparently so many have arrived in Auckland that, the ones for Wellington are going to be put on a ship to be transported as it'll be, overall, faster to get them here. No doubt cheaper as well. Reading between the lines it would seem that once cleared by Customs they'll all get their VTNZ inspection in Auckland as the arrival date in Wellington is slated as Friday 02 Dec with dealers starting to have vehicles prepared for collection the week of Mon 05 Dec. They're hoping for all vehicles to be ready prior to Christmas. An electrician is coming round tomorrow morning to look at giving me a quote for upgrading my 1970 switchboard and running some extra cable for a home charger.

Has anyone compared the ZS EV vs the HS +EV? I've been somewhat stuck on wanting the PHEV over pure EV, but now considering having an EV for most driving and a cheaper larger used car / suv / people mover for the occasional longer trip (yes, this works out cheaper than rentals for our frequency etc)

Having an ICE car for occasional long range use is a perfectly valid solution. We had a Leaf and a Pajero for several years. The Leaf got about 90% of the use, and the Pajero only when we either had to use two cars (my wife also has a motorbike) or when the Leaf just wasn't going to cut it. As far as PHEVs go ... personally I think they're the worst of both worlds as a general rule but they do have some valid use cases especially if you tow a lot: the modern ones can be an EV for short runs but still have the range of an ICE (and the convenience of refueling) when you're towing.

We still have our Pajero Sport for towing the horse float.
It doesn’t get used for anything anymore.

Depends what brand of PHEV you want .  I read a review on the MG one that was not very favorable as it doesn't start off in EV mode until the ICE motor warms up.

Picked up on Saturday. Some niggles with the optionals not being right so they will need to be fixed up. The lane assist is a bit janky, although that was somewhat expected from KiwiEV's review. But my wife is loving it otherwise so far.
