Does anyone have any experience using axle stand adapters? They're designed to fit over the saddle of the axle stand and protect pinch welds from being damaged. Even my car's workshop manual recommends using them but they only seem to be available from overseas suppliers like Amazon etc. and are the wrong size for my axle stands.

Generally I avoid using axle stands on pinch welds. Jack from the designated point then place the axle stand under a fixed suspension mounting location like a swing arm pivot etc...
