Trunks2: Anyone have a Panasonic 4K TV? JB have the TH-50CX610Z on special so I'm thinking of upgrading from my Sony KDL-50W700B 1080p smart from last boxing day just wondering if it's worth the change.

Netflix NZ has only about 5 worth watching titles which are in 4K. And 4K bluray player and disc should be available from next year, but will be expensive and rare. I shouldn't mention, but even pirate-bay doesn't have decent number of 4K movies.

You will be watching mostly 2K materials on your 4K TV in at least next 2 years. So my answer is no if you already have a decent 2K tv.

A lot of content also on YouTube.

richms: If you're not going bigger than don't bother. Unless something else with your current TV bothers you or you sit within a couple of meters and can see screen door because of pizel size.

I do sit about 1.5-2m from it as I have a small room and I do play PC/PS4 games on it, also not concerned with the smart stuff as I have a Roku 4 for that.

Love my Sony, after upgrading from a Konka I've learned to stick to name brands but always thought Sony/Samsung is better than the rest, how does Panasonic compare?

invisibleman18: Tempted in the Fitbit Surge for $263 at JB Hi-fi. Worth it?

I considered buying one of these a few weeks ago but was put off by the fact that it's not completely watertight like the Tomtom Spark.

Of course, this may not be an issue for you but it's worth being aware of before purchasing.

Unless its a 60 inch screen at a very specific distance from the couch, they are probably invisible pixels anyway.

Have you played with the functionality of these speakers?
If so, what do you think?
My understanding is they're having to 'give them away' as a majority of consumers have given them the big swerve. My suspicion is that's down to looks (the 7 isn't exactly subtle in appearance)... But the question remains, how is the App. / aspects such as room-to-room audio delays etc?

I had to get a Windows phone to test/demo a new app and I found that you can get one with 1GB RAM for less than $100: $71 at The Warehouse for a Microsoft Lumia 435 locked to Vodafone.

It runs very smoothly for a low-end phone: dual 1.2GHz CPU but only 2MP camera, no flash, video 480p at 30fps. I figure that the extra RAM will come in handy compared with the better featured $116 Lumia 635 that only has 0.5GB RAM.

I know nothing about the speaker. Want to replace my kitchen radio and want a Spotify client capable device, as mobile doesn't allow you to select individual tracks. Will sit up on my fridge so don't care what it looks like.

Anyhow, haven't got it yet. Hope I can report back soon!...

Huchiz: Probably the best automatic espresso machine deal this year.

Check at the Panasonic NC-ZA1 from HN, and for an additional $59 you have 4 years warranty, that is peace in mind for an automatic machine. Yes, they WILL fail.

It's almost the same as Sunbeam EM9300, both are rebranded of a German/Chinese WIK 7535. But as Panasonic approves it, also at this price and warranty terms it can't be beaten.

Thank you so much for posting this. Was able to convince the wife to get one earlier today at HN Wairau. Got the 4-year warranty for 70$, can't get the saleslady to bring it down to 59. Still, a very good deal. I was worried about the temperature because I like my coffee hot, turns out the highest temp setting is more than enough for me (tried it without milk though) :)

I would be tempted to get an extended warranty too due to the complexity of it, even though I don't normally buy them due to buyers already having CGA coverage. But does it say in the fine print of the warranty if it fails? Will they just refund you what you paid, which won't cover the cost of buying a new one, less the $59. Or will they fix it (which I am guessing is quite expensive), if they even have parts for it in NZ.

Mine too for the 1st time with a U12 code, making a louder pump noise than usual.

It looks like the internal hose is dry so it's not very good at sucking water initially. I just added water to a few mm higher than the Max line then everything is fine ever after.

There are couple of Lenovo deals in PB Tech, worth a try.
