Just had a look in Featherston Street for the hell of it while walking past. Store is practically empty but they did have 6 32gb Ipods left at 25% off. If they go down further on the final day to clear them I might grab one.

Not sure why people still buy Ipods when your phone can hold your music? Save your money IMO

mattwnz:It simply isn't worth buying from them for piss all saving. I would prefer to pay more to a company that is going to be around ina year to help with warranty or CGA claims if they occur.

Presumably you are aware that DSE will have a support phone number to deal with warranty issues(for goods sold during the receivers time running it). But yeah having no store fronts makes it a pain in the ass.

Prefer to keep music and phone separate. Also Iphones or similar that can hold as much music are 2 or 3 times the price. Already have an older one anyway so need it, was just thinking if they go to 50% off or something on Friday afternoon to get rid of the last few.

Also prefer using a lower value device for for gym and running etc. Wouldn't be that comfortable using a $1000+ device while exercising.

I use my iPod nano when I'm out running or at the Gym as my 5.5" phone is too large to exercise with.

I prefer to have a separate device, because the phone is so big and bulky and heavy, compare to the size of an ipod. I suppose the compromise is an iphone SE / iphone 5 , but that is still thick and heavy compared to an ipod. An ipod is also substantially cheaper, than a top phone. YOu also have to worry about wear and tear of carrying around an $1k+ devices, vs one that is a couple of hundred. Apple also support their products for a lot longer than android manufacturers from my experience, and the ipod is still the best actual music player(along with the iphone) IMO, and has the bonus of being pretty much an iphone without the calling.

Prefer to keep music and phone separate so as not to lose everything when one device packs up/gets lost/gets stolen. Also Iphones or similar that can hold as much music are 2 or 3 times the price. If they are 50% of, I will probably go for one too. They had heaps of 16GB ones at my store , but only ugly blue and white 32GB ones.

Riccarton has a bin with a lot of ADSL filters.    Maybe twenty or thirty at the price of $2.30 each.    They are the Dick Smith brand but at price, and you need one, it has to be a good deal.    That was the only thing that really caught my eye.    The Riccarton staff have also sorted all the phone cases properly into separate bins.

Today is the last day for some/many stores, be sure to post if you see the remaining Apple product reduced before the door closes. I thinking as they are 3rd party, they might even just return seal to Apple to sell as refurbished stock depending on age?

Also if the last to the laptop are cut right back, just to move them out?

Was just at Fston St and there's a little movement with their iPhones - but not nearly enough to justify buying a demo/repair/display model with no warranty... they had a couple of 64GB iP5's for $499 but again, when you can get a brand new 5S (admittedly 16GB) from NL for the same, I know what I'd rather buy... and the staff member agreed. There were some whispers they'd be moving (discounting) them tomorrow from other people, though I didn't hear it from a staff member so it may be incorrect.

I was just in there (Featherston St) and, yes - still 25% today.

I did end up buying a USB A-B cable ($2.50) that I found myself needing just three days ago, as the one for my printer has become mysteriously lost.
