The store beneath my work closed down yesterday, was sad to see the store so empty.

Saw a few bargains still around, Dish TV 500GB Freeview HD Box was $29.90 down from $380. All HDMI cords were $2-3. All Phone/iPad/Kindle cases 50c.

Best deal I saw was a 55' 4K LED TV for $750 as it was an ex-display model, honestly looked like it wasn't long out of the box.

Popped back in at the end of the day, and all the old stock of HDMI cords were being loaded into garbage bags, not sure where it was destined, hopefully another store rather than the dump.

As a lot of shops have already closed, has anyone seen whether they are discounting stuff on the final day/s?. eg ipods reduced further than 25% etc. From what I can see stuff is dicounted to as low as it will, apart from some demo products, which looks like they are just pricing it to get rid of it.

Looks like those closing today are not discounting anything further, if given iPod for example are still 25%. Apple products have good resell value, be easy enough to gather these together and sell elsewhere quickly if need be. Who knows what conditions Apple has on retailers on prices.

I wouldn't be surprised if the stuff been bagged into rubbish bags would be dumped. There is no point keeping or attempting selling it if only $2. Easier to take to the landfill. Not like they going to lose to much of what is already lost at this stage.

My store closed yesterday, there was still a few laptops there and just many many phone cases, hdmi cables and a few iphone/ipods. They likely dumped all the junk in their skip behind the shop

I suspect they will be sending the stuff off to be auctioned as bulk lots. The apple stuff may have good resale value, but it all takes time to do and staff to pay for doing it. Not sure that ipods though are the biggest sellers at the best of time, as many people would far rather buy an iphone over an ipod. Also the warehouse you can get nearly 20% off right now off ipods with a 15% discount they have already got, and a warehouse card which gives you 5% off.

iPhones at Featherston St now 25% off, only one is new though all the rest are demo.

New model is iPhone 6+ 64GB for $1049.

FYI: Whakatane is closed. I was hoping to find a mains power adapter as I'm heading to Europe later in the year. I then tried over the road at NL and couldn't find any, and of the three staff in there one was helping another customer and the other two preferred to sit at the front counter and talk on the phone. After waiting around five minutes, I walked out without buying anything.
