I understand Stream 7 coming soon to NZ. I'm guessing launch price not far off $199 locally.

The review looked good, but he didn't really show the use as a touchscreen tablet, only as a windows computer.

I'm wondering if you would be able to put Windows 10 on it

NZ rrp on the stream 11 is $499 (vs $199 usd) so I wouldn't hold my breath.

I don't know if you can draw any conclusions from this but:

One of the HP distributors has "HP Stream 7 Black Case" with an RRP of $26 +GST. HP Product Code is K2N05AA
The same company does not list the Stream 7 itself listed in their product lines currently.
The same company lists the "HP STREAM 11-d009TU" with an RRP of $499 +GST (HP Code K5C55PA) (FYI there are significant education discounts on this model)

I was gearing up to say that your price comparison using a discounted Amazon price or similar was not fair, but blow me down you are dead right about the $199 RRP for the Stream 11.

I'm not entirely convinced that US$199 --> NZ$499 is reasonable given the current currency conversion rate:

Looks like 7" wont be here in NZ till next year

HP Stream 8" is here shortly for 269

Full Windows in a (large) pocket sized device might be very compelling for some people. The 32Gb of flash will be very limiting if this is running full Windows 8.1.

This runs full Windows 8.1 Update 1 and even a 16GB model has more free disk space than a 16gb iPad

Yes any machine that runs Windows 8 can run Windows 10

I was thinking in terms of the fact that it uses WIMBoot to ensure Windows uses less storage space, wondering if the same thing would be possible with the technical preview of Windows 10 that is available.
