ringbearer: I created a second account account to use for the US store. You have to pay to use the streaming service, so I just used it to download the albums  I wanted and transferred them to my phone.

But how did you log out of the windows 8 music app, to log back in under another account. I looked everywhere and can't find anyway to log out. It seems to be linked to the main windows login. I could create an entire new user in windows, but that is quite a bit of effort just to log into music under another user.

That's why I do the "login to each application not recommended" thing on windows 8 because of the country BS they do.

I know how you feel. However to update the music app and download from the store, you now need to use a microsoft account, and convert the account to one. I can't see anyway around it, as there is no option not to.

Oh they have the Led Zepplin Complete (165 songs) for $1.99.  This is definitely joining my collection.

is it still showing for you?  I cant see it :(

I think so it was there on the Xbox music search for me last night.  Some of the items are not showing on the Music Deals app and if you know what they are then you just search them on the Xbox Music store for the price (free or $1.99).

Here's a copy of the text about boxsets and free albums search these directly on the Xbox Music Store and if still available will show the reduced / free price (and by the looks of these two lists my 18 free albums is about to grow quite a bit more).

Example $1.99 Box Set artists:

The Who, Prince, Grateful Dead, George Harrison, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, John Lennon, Nirvana, Replacements, Talking Heads, Echo & The Bunnymen, Johnny Cash, Lou Reed, Doors, Smiths, Tom Petty, Elton John, Neil Young, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, R.E.M., Velvet Underground, Eagles, Frank Sinatra, John Coltrane, Frank Zappa, Bee Gees, Tony Bennett, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Kiss, Radiohead, Police, Black Crowes, Supremes

I only see 50 free albums and less box sets today.  Led Zep is full price again it seems :(

Ok so it looks like they older set of albums and box sets must have reverted back to old prices earlier today.... As I went to buy Led Zeppelin Complete (which I saw last night for $1.99) and as stated above it's now $99.99 along with a whole lot of the albums I posted above...I now am pissed at myself for not doing this earlier today or last night.  Still though it does state that some of the deals for the box sets expire in 4 days so hopefully they'll offer up a few new ones.  I still have added 2 box sets at $1.99 today and will grab a couple more before the current lot expire.

Ultimately I have grabbed 18 Albums and 2 box sets (435 songs so far) for $4.97 USD so shouldn't really complain many thanks to the OP for pointing this out.

How do people pay, as it won't process on my credit card that I had loaded into xbox, probably because it is a NZ card. It says to 'Use a different way to pay"They also don't appear to have a paypal option.

It appears they're now using geotagging (doing ip address location chevks) when purchasing so you have to use a vpn to spoof that you are in the US. So just find yourself a cheap or free vpn service and have it set to the US and then browse the music deals app for the albums / collections you want hit the buy it (get it) button it'll switch over to the xbox music site then buy it from there. If it's a free album it'll just go through straight away if you need to pay an amount it works the same way any other xbox purchase does.

Just remember that the music purchased will instantly download to your device drm free in MP3 format so can be transferred to wherever from there.

Ok Ignore me I figured it out, Windows 8.1 is simple once you figure out how to use it, just had to search for "region" in the search box then change it

Ok

I have now downloaded the music deals app and can see all the deals, however whenever i click on anything it opens the music (xBox music) app with the nz price, so as i am using a VPN, i am assuming i have to change a gamer tag thing? where exactly do i do that?

This is what i see

I have a message saying "this album isn't available through xbox music. It was showing as free in the deals app!

I'd be pretty keen to get this working.
