I generally find the dining ooffers are the types of meals I generally try to avoid.

every time i used a grabone/ treatme service, the business has blacklisted itself in my book. i didn't need to do anything - they just showed me how aweful they were!

dining i use entertainment book - seems to be fine. but there was ONE occasion they owner operator yelled at me for not saying i was paying with the Entertainment coupon. presumably so he could serve me his oldest steak. (whcih in theory tastes better)

Really? Why is that? Some of the degustation ones at restaurants like Sails in Auckland have been fabulous ime. The offers vary so much that it is hard to imagine there is never anything you wouldn't be interested in regardless of your food preferences... Unless of course you are on a special diet which explains it perfectly. :)

(I ask only out of a morbid fascination and irritating need to know how everyone around me eats)

Seldom see deals like steak come up on them. They are usually for the tedious multiple course places where you are sitting around for ages waiting on more weird food to come out, which is usually IME pretty gross with things that are like slime and stuff on them.

Lol not a fine diner I gather!

I don't mind fine dining but I need quantity regardless of quality

We've had mostly positive experiences with Grab One etc, but a few bad ones too. Got a great car groom deal one time, $59 or something for an 'executive clean'. The guy spent 4 hours on it and it was like new - money well spent IMO, I don't have time for that. Got another car groom recently, different company, and they were out of business when we tried redeeming it.

I used to subscribe to their newsletters but now just check the sites occasionally. I'm not that desperate for a discount that I want to be bombarded with emails from them.

Considering the variety on offer across the board, I am wondering what foods you will actually eat?

Right, so meat and 2 veg for you then? Each to their own, the fine dining in NZ is as good as most places in the world. We have a few which are seriously world class and with the variety and freshness of our food, it's a win for sure.

Well most of those are so cheap you'd be unlikely to find a discount on them anyways. Personally I'd argue that Mc'Ds isn't food at all.

Unless you're having him for dinner, who cares...

I get annoyed when people make an issue out of what others eat/dont eat.

Well you like steak, and I could give you a method for cooking steak that is so simple and yet so awesome, you'd be blown away I am sure.
