I use FLIRC with a nice remote from a TV tuner card that has since died.

@gnfb may have one for sale?

cshaun: I have a Logitech Harmony One Remote, that I don't really use. It's just painfully slow. I've read about decreasing delays etc, and I believe it's set on minimum.
Do you guys not have that issue? Using a wireless keyboard e.g. is instant, no perceivable delay. With the remote 200-500ms, and it drives me nuts.
I'd like to use the remote... layout is pretty awesome.

Side issue is the rubberized plastic has gone real manky, all sticky. It's just deteriorated even though it's been used for less than a couple hours and has been sitting in a draw away from sunlight and moisture.

Ive seen old MS Mouse roller wheels do that..icky sticky rubber.
Im  on my 4th Harmony,  I upgraded to better versions, Only one 1 has failed : I used it untill I wore out one of the buttons.
Never noticed issues with lag:will check tonight & compare to the OEM remote. Its not lag in the TV is it ? or failing batts ?
They are so cheap now, just replace it. $60

I'll need to try again. Pretty much 6 years, can't remember. More of an issue with controlling the HTPC. iMON infra read receiver built into Silverstone case. Pretty sure the remote that came with that didn't have the lag.
