This is a marketing promo so if the info you provided don't make commercial sense then I don't think you will get the code. I got a response within 30 mins and order placed this morning.

Yes there is a certain way of approaching these sorts of things to get a desirable outcome.

Do they have to be cloud managed? appears they can be on-premise as well..

cnMaestro (the cloud management platform) will at some stage be available as an on-prem solution but isn't yet.

I've only just got my first AP up and running and from what I can tell you can't actually use the cloud management to configure all the settings on the AP via a GUI. You can create and push text based config files though, and monitor the APs. The actual device config e.g. setting up SSIDs etc is done on the device (web or ssh). You can pull the config txt into the cloud platform and create a template with that. I may wrong about all that, just getting started.

Yeah based off that I have decided to stick to my Xclaim, my cnPilot has gone to a friend of whom I'll assist setting up for him. Just can't justify another enterprise grade AP no matter how cheap it is ;)

But, I am still going to do some comparisons. For the price though at the moment they're bloody good and I am sure this offer would have benefited many people but for your average punter at the regular price the Xclaim still seems to be the better option based off ease of use.

My Xclaim is already overkill for my 2 bedroom small apartment-style house but so is the rest of my network really.

It is early days for their firmware and they appear to be very receptive to feedback. I think 6 months down the lane when the have their 2.0 firmware out, things would be bit different

Yes true early days yet. Although 2.0 is already out (released April 12th). The on-boarding process is pretty sweet, totally seamless, just enter the serial number and power on the unit. First boot took ages, I presume it was updating to 2.0.

First basic tests with iperf from my phone and I'm getting ~220Mbps at close range. The only 802.11 AC devices I have are phones. Really need to upgrade my ~ 5yo laptop!

Just using the supplied adaptor. I was planning to buy an EdgeRouter lite 3 but now thinking perhaps I should go with the EdgeRouter POE (5 Port). As I'm planning to put up at least 2 of the 3 APs I bought. I'm not really up on PoE standards though so will need to do some research.

Bummer, was hoping I could you use you as a short cut in my research (should I manage to snag the deal)...

I've been looking at either of the two below. I'm not sure the 5 ports on the EdgeRouter POE will be enough...

Also not clear if the POE when bridging the port speed like it does on the ERL..

Ubiquiti EdgeSwitch 16 port 150W PoE Switch
Ubiquiti TOUGHSwitch 24V 5 POE Managed Gigabit Switch

I ordered three cnPilot E400 units at lunchtime today - and got an OOS message.

So I tried for two units, and got them.

The Go Wireless website now shows: "Availability: Out of Stock".  frown

Promo codes are valid until 30 May, so hopefully they'll get more stock before then.
