Pretty good deal - Just purchased one to try out:

Purchase from GoWiFi here - instructions are on the page. Works out to $97.50(excl GST) for a full cloud managed wireless access point.

Limit of 3 per customer. Offer is until May the 30th.

Specs: http://www.gowifi.co.nz/specs/cnPilot_E400.pdf - Appears to be a direct Xclaim XI-3 competitor with their own cloud management solution cnMaestro.

How long did it take to get your promo code? I'm going to try going with this instead of the xclaim. The price is right!

Took me a couple of hours however I'm sure they'll be getting slammed with requests now.

Nothing for me yet. I submitted this morning. I imagine the New Zealand channel wouldn't be too busy.

Cheers, Matt

Thanks for the heads up! Have registered for a promo code.

At the risk of thread jacking, can someone point me at some of the pros and cons of a device/controller vs cloud solution for managing APs? This sort of AP is new to me. Is the management part of it just for centralised deployment and monitoring, or does it do something else?

Basically my project is purely residential - bigger house, a single AP won't cut it, and looking for something more reliable (and more aesthetically pleasing) than DD-WRT routers placed in strategic locations. I'm picking this would be total overkill, but $100 per AP is pretty hard to beat.

Received my promo pdf in the wee hours of this morning. Order placed with Go Wireless. 3 APs for the price of one xClaim unit. Not bad. (Well not bad if they are good APs!)

Thanks very much for the heaps up Michael.

Same boat here. Promo code received overnight. Seems to be dealt with out of the States (thanks Colin!) so just the usual time zone issues.

For anyone else doing this, GoWifi can't accept the particular promo code as part of the checkout process. You need to process the checkout at full price (don't pay by credit card) then send them the pdf you get from Cambium. They'll then flick you a separate invoice with the discount applied.

I really can't believe how good a deal this is. Karma almost inevitably dictates that they are going to be a pr!ck to set up properly.

Mine is en-route. I'll post a comparison of this versus the Xclaim XI-3 when it arrives. If it impresses me I may well have a cheap XI-3 to flick off to some lucky punter :)

Just far easier to manage the AP's themselves. I can provision SSID's etc to my current Xclaim solution from anywhere with an internet connection, firmware updates are handled seamlessly, new features get added etc.

Cambuim is a division of Motorola (Basically their Enterprise Wireless Division). Talking to a colleague in the USA he thinks they are pretty good. Will be a lot better in coming months as they execute their roadmap for improving the current range post release.
