sonyxperiageek: Predictions for the queue on Saturday?
I wonder if their website will crash at 1pm on Saturday...
It's Sylvia park, its congested just getting in on a normal weekend let alone opening day for a semi-popular store front.

Queue on saturday will exceed the value of the savings for me. Some people will queue for hours for 2 slices of pizza for free so this will have them going crazy to get a discount.
I'm keen on purchasing a scooter; I'm not so worried about the $100 savings - while that'll be nice to have, I'd rather just ensure I get an order in. So, I'm wondering if their full stock consist of the numbers assigned for the $599 price or once they go they'll have further stock at the normal price.
That said, I'm still going to be pounding away on my keyboard at 1pm!
I've just received an email from PB Tech stating that they will be the sole authorised Mi Retail partner in NZ, and will be stocking a wider range of Mi products than they have in the past, including the Mi scooter.
Details as follows:
The PB Tech Mi Story
Here at PB Tech, we've been selling popular Mi products for almost two years now, with our customers enjoying the innovative range offered by this diverse brand.
Now with the official launch into NZ, PB Tech will be offering an increased range of products including the extremely exciting Mi Electric Scooter, Mi & Redmi Smartphone Ranges, Mi Lifestyle Products and heaps more.
The offcial entry of Mi into NZ will see their latest products now being certified as per the requirements specific to New Zealand cellular networks and power sources and backed by a local warranty.
This vastly increased product line will now be available to PB customers at more competitive prices too, thanks to further support from the team at Xiaomi Global. Look for PB Tech's Mi range to slowly increase in the leadup to Christmas.
Tivo upgrades to operate with the new OzTivo EPG, support and service. Over 400 performed here so far. See: www.hillcrest.net.nz

I got that as well and am wondering if PB Tech has some financial interest in the opening of the Mi shop here..

That's an interesting idea. I wouldn't be surprised as PBTech have diversified into a variety of other products lately including homeware.
I have to say I've been mighty impressed with the Xiaomi products I've bought in the past with a standard of quality/price well above expectation. Pretty keen on one of those scooters also after seeing several reviews, including those from our very own Spain based Kiwi Tech Tablets channel on Youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpYrIp5rCX4

Keen to pick up a Pocophone to see what all the hype is about. Those smart cameras look quite neat too. Might have to line up early on Saturday.

Before the mi-store website went live and it was just a splash page talking about opening specials I noticed the url https://static.mi-store.co.nz/ and it had the PB Tech favicon. So I assume PB definitely has some sort of vested interest.
