Such listing make using trademe a bad experience unless you either filter to "used" listings

Not even that works, there are sellers who list their new items as "used"

That time when you switch to "used" when you want good items, instead of "new".

My favourite part of their feedback was this:

We didnt receive our glass panel we ordered. When questioned they said that the post sent it back and they had refunded the money. I would of preferred more option here but just took it as a product they could no longer sell. HOWEVER THEY ARE STILL SELLING THIS PRODUCT ON THEIR TRADEME STORE. If there is a problem with couriers not accepting it why let your customers go through this hassle.

Actually, just saw the $150 'paint pen', is that sort of carry on actually even legal?

It should be illegal but even the CGA doesnt appear to cover this

"If you think the price is unreasonable but you pay it without disputing it at the time, the law says you have agreed to the price and can’t dispute it (affirmation)."

Did the seller answer any of the questions, not saving the listings we can only see the re-newed efforts?

Not mine. I doubted they would anyway, it was a loaded question.

Might bid on this bargain note 'No reserve' as well.

That's a standard way of retracting a listing without getting dinged by TM. I've done it myself for something where I found out that there were some compatibility issues with it and I wanted to pull the listing.

So...is advertising to sell a pen like this really ethical then, apparently it is legal, but is it ethical and kosher to advertise to sell a pen in this manner for $150+ that's freely available at major local stores for $12.50

Isn't that taking the limit of what you can try & do, try to achieve a bit far, I mean, even bought at full screaming retail the seller has 1200% Markup, surely there is something to prevent this

Is there no burden of responsibility somewhere, to 'protect' extremely stupid people who might be fooled & actually pay for these products etc

Just would have thought, elderly, mentally disabled people ect etc might be protected somewhat from such scams

Ahh, Altronics.  They have been running these crazy priced listings for probably at least 6 months flooding some of my favourite searches (I have a lot of them).

I don't understand it, except that it shows how international sellers get special treatment with regards to high volume listings, nobody in their right mind is going to flood the site with so many ridiculously priced listings if they had to pay for them all like the rest of us local plebs do.

Then again, I guess it only takes one sale and there's one born every minute as they say.

Worth noting that Global PC used to be the Altronics dealers in NZ, now they are out of business I don't know if there is any other agent.  Turners was hocking off some of the component stock etc, but the lots were a mish-mash of 90% stuff that would sit on a shelf for the next 20 years, and 10% saleable stuff, wasn't worth the hassle.
