sonyxperiageek: And likewise, the Briscoes mailer arrived yesterday and went straight out in the recycling bin so I couldn't tell anyone if they were having a sale or not..

You would definitely notice if Briscoes were NOT having a sale!

It would be as likely as: The sun not coming up. or being hit on the head by a meteorite!

When Briscoes are having a "Sale" is it really a sale though? or is that the RRP. Seems stupid to discount stock 90% of the year and have the audacity to call it a sale.

They have had 50% off everything before. They have very little I would buy though. I don't think this years boxing day deals are going to be all that great. They haven't been as good for several years. Retailers seem to be putting more effort into black Friday deals these days

Haven't heard of Van Dyks before, and no stores in Auckland. Are they legit?

Yes they are legit.  A fairly substantial family owned furniture and homewares business in the Waikato/BoP.  Also do flooring, curtains, and home appliances.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

Briscoes have 30-70% off everything in store.. So their prices are actually going up (was 40-70% off everything up until today)

Lost interest in Briscoes, their sales are their normal prices, when they are not on a sale they are ripping you off (more), what I am looking for is their sale sales to really get a good bargain!

PBTech Boxing Day sale is live. Have just spent more money than I should have, now have to wait until 31 December for delivery. It's like waiting for Christmas, twice!

IMO Boxing Day Sales are no longer as exciting and offering as much discounts as they used to be, especially now that Single's Day and Black Friday Sales are offering better deals/discounts.

sonyxperiageek: Anything good?

I picked up a Note 10+ for $1349, which is as cheap as it as ever been as far as I know (and I've been dithering over a new phone for a while now so have been keeping an eye out).

I also grabbed a Yeelight 480 at about 25% off. We've got a 450 (the "moon" versus "stars" version - i.e. white and round so far as I can tell) and I've been super impressed with the range of bright to dim so got another for Littlest Miss MDF's room.
