I have a mibox s and it runs plex fine, there is however a known bug with plex (no video playback) and if it happens to you all you need to do is disable the "new video player" option.

Yes, that seems to be the case. This or the shield? ? I'm starting to think the shield as the mibox just sounds a bit buggy.

Getting off topic a bit but I have both the Shield and Mi Box 3. Both must have new player disabled in Plex at the moment because of Plex bugs. But Mi Box is more buggy by far, though for the price still happy with it.

We have been waiting for OLED TVs to come down in price until they are unlikely to continue getting cheaper rapidly ie good value.

The PBTech Samsung q60r 4k q-LED TV seems like a bargain at $2299?

One issue we have in our new house is the lounge room has its far wall/seating tooooo far back for the 1080p 55" Sony, which aside from terrible software is still running well, I just cant read anything due to aging eye sight. I do need to get bi focals I think, but every time I see optometrist they just say I need reading glasses, yet, close or far, everything is slightly blurry.

Anyway, does 10" make much of a size difference?

What is the software like on Samsungs?

This TV seems to have had excellent reviews, I know samsung are known for their panels. Are we likely to see a better 65" deal in the next few months ? (not looking for answers just opinions).

Samsung's are QLED not OLED, and not as good as the OLED options from Song, LG, Panasonic etc. The Q60 range is pretty average and often doesn't outperform their cheaper LED options. If you shop around you can probably get something better for the price.

Given a 10” difference in diagonal measurement amounts to a 40% increase in screen real estate (ie area) then yep it makes a huge difference. See this:

I found that even the jump we made earlier this year from 60” to 65” was noticeable, but now it feels like the new normal!

As for whether OLEDs are good value - we paid about $3400 for a Panasonic GZ1000 at the start of the year; that’s around 1k more than the Samsung you’re looking at, and it was worth every penny - that’s good value in my book, and I’m happy we made the move rather than waiting for the ever-hoped for slump in prices which still hasn’t arrived.

Thanks. the Panasonic is a good panel though.

I know the QLEDs arent as good, but they seem to get good reviews so a bit suprised.

As for sitting distance, I should use the calculator for sitting distance to size. But feel 65" will be bang on and fit this half wall perfectly and match the architecture if wall mounted.

But might wait a bit if better panels are out there.
