I shifted three kids mobiles across to Kogan not long after they first popped up.  They will be able to call or txt their mother and I any time.

The first year I had them on the 1Gb/month 365 day plan and they found that a bit restrictive.  At the anniversary I put them onto the 4Gb 365 day plan which makes it much less likely they will run out, but they still can't be wasteful.  They view their remaining data using the Kogan Mobile app.

If you buy for 365 days, you are stuck for 365 days as no plan changes are allowed.  If you buy a new plan, you forfeit whatever remains of your current plan.  Their deals (parcularly their anniversary specials) are very good, but you do need to consider whether your needs may change.  For most consumers who's usage is pretty predictable and are capable of doing their own troubleshooting with minimal online help, I definately encourage grabing the deal.

I've never had to contact the support.

jonathan18: Would anyone like to go halves on a ‘small’ plan? (That’s the 1.5GB/month option.)

This is ideal for my teenager, so if there’s anyone else who needs one of these I’d be keen on splitting the cost - $80 each.

Please DM me if interested.

(I’ll also shift my wife and myself to the medium plan - I was with Kogan for a couple of years, and have found Skinny’s limitations on the length of texts really frustrating. I found the Kogan plan included MMS so it wasn’t an issue.)

I am potentially keen, I need to discuss with my wife.

My son has a $10 prepay with VF but it only gives him 150MB of data and 50 minutes of calling and texting, which has been fine, except that 150MB of data disappears pretty quickly.

That’s exactly the same issue we have - my son’s on a 2D $10 plan with 250MB, which is just too easy to burn through without him even noticing; 1.5GB gives more than enough leeway for the usage to which he puts it.

Let me know when you can if you’re in, as I’d like to get this underway soon.

How does this work? I’m keen to get a single large account for me and a medium account for second phone. Do I split the cost and data allowance with another person? Sorry confused about how this works.

It’s simply a BOGOF offer - so it’s not possible to purchase one each of two different plans. In your case you’d need to find another person (or two people) keen to go halves on each of the plans you want so as to be able to split the costs. Effectively that second person would be buying the code, as that’s all they’ll need.

Thanks, i finally read the first post and understand its a "free" voucher or BOGOF as you mention.

I wonder why they don't do the voucher for the extra large accounts?

The extra large plan doesn't exist anymore.

The biggest is large at 15GB a month.

I'd take up offers here but sadly I have 213 days left of the 1 year I bought earlier in the year.

martyyn:

I'm going to switch our six numbers from Skinny and Spark.

Currently I pay $2280 a year with four numbers on legacy 1.25GB rollover plans. With this deal I can have the four on 4GB plans and save $1450 a year or have all six on 15Gb and still save $1290.

It's a no brainer.

Only downside is we switched from VF to Skinny because the reception at home was horrendous, but that was 9 years ago so hopefully it's improved.

Go to   vodafone.co.nz/coverage and input your address.

If there’s anyone keen to go halves on the lowest tier plan (1.5gb per month for $6.60pm) flick me a DM. I’ve got a friend keen to go on that plan.

I shifted (back) to Kogan yesterday with one of these BOGOF offerings, and the transition went perfectly smoothly.

Just one thing to note that, unlike some other telcoms (eg Skinny), Kogan doesn't allow you to set a date/time for the porting; it just happens at the next available time (in my case, that was within 2-3 hours). I ended up wasting three days of my previous plan (along with much rollover data that I couldn't make use of in lockdown!), so will port my wife and son over on the day their current plans expire.

Anyway, I now look forward to free MMS so no limit on text length - man, I had found going back to the character limit of SMS with Skinny astoundingly frustrating. Some of us like to write small novels via text (so easy to do when writing on a computer)...

Does this offer have a time limit on when it has to be activated by?
