In for 4 x 8TB ones, but like the others, they have now reverted back to full price and shipped/sold by Amazon AU

Oh well, wait and see I guess...

It seems like most are expecting it to be cancelled as a price error anyway, so I wouldn't feel too gutted about it

Same for me. Money taken unless they cancel after the fact.

My one (2x 16TB) is showing as shipped and my card has been charged $545.43 (showed as $495.22 in cart) which lines up with the exchange rate

makes it extremely cheap seeing as 1 drive at PB tech is going for $788 52 inc GST

SirHumphreyAppleby:

There have been a few of these deals lately. Hopefully that means we'll be seeing some price reductions across the board.

Talking to myself and feeling old... the general consensus on the deal sites seems to be this was a pricing error and orders will likely be cancelled - possibly even after they arrive in the country. Apparently Amazon has done this in the past.

Initially I thought this was legit. After all, suppliers in NZ make the lion's share of profit, so it's not unusual for me to buy items Ex-USA/Germany/UK for less than half what they are sold for here, nor is a 41% discount unusual in this industry. I'm also now checking Amazon Australia for most IT purchases, because things like TP-Link switches are much cheaper than in NZ. Constraints on chip supply over recent years have begun to ease, demand for drives is down with crypto mining seemingly going out of fashion and hard drive prices have been kept inflated for years, with larger SSDs being drip fed onto the market... we should be seeing prices coming down.

Mine has also shipped so if it's a price error, they're certainly going to have a job to do to recall them all...

I think we're probably in the clear. Thanks so much for the heads up Wakrak.
