networkn:Jaxson: Really keen to hear your feedback on how good those games are.
Trying to decide if Kinect is worth it.
Leaning towards Xbox one to replace the PS3....
If you have a PS3 a PS4 is a much more natural upgrade. Kinect is cool, but I haven't used my Kinect (or in fact my Xbox One) in 4 months.

Yeah main sticking point for me is the lack of harmony remote integration with the PS4. It can't even turn it on via harmony remote, which is a step back on the PS3.
Xbox by contrast looks far more integrated as a media centre type all in one.
Wondering how the Windows 10 update has revitalised the Xbox?
And how the Kinect works with kids? Ie genuinely good or complicated and more of a gimmick. PS3 has sing star, not sure if that will work on a ps4 again?
Lots of good deals at the moment for both, especially if you go 500GB smaller hdd.
networkn: The Kinect is mostly a Gimmick, we have had one for both our 360 and One and both got used a handful or so of times.
It's voice recognition is pretty reasonable, it's handy for loading game cards as it just scans the stuff.

Dunnersfella: We never use the Kinect camera on the XBox One.
However it is mainly used for Hulu Plus, Netflix and gaming - there's a pair of DTS Headphone-X cans for wireless gaming / TV watching if I don't want to annoy the wife.
Once HBO Now turns up, it's got me sorted.
It works brilliantly with my Harmony Ultimate too.
Recommended.

Thanks for the feedback guys.
Off to find a bargain...
HDMI control is turned off on our system so the harmony control knows the state of everything.
fastmikey: I did to be fair pick up the kinect for $50 on trademe :-)

Is it the same Kinect unit for Xbox 360 as Xbox One?
Some of the deal packages give you the Kinect unit and 3x Kinect games for around $100 more.
dacraka:Huchiz:mattwnz:fluxx:Huchiz: Probably the best automatic espresso machine deal this year.
Check at the Panasonic NC-ZA1 from HN, and for an additional $59 you have 4 years warranty, that is peace in mind for an automatic machine. Yes, they WILL fail.
It's almost the same as Sunbeam EM9300, both are rebranded of a German/Chinese WIK 7535. But as Panasonic approves it, also at this price and warranty terms it can't be beaten.
Thank you so much for posting this. Was able to convince the wife to get one earlier today at HN Wairau. Got the 4-year warranty for 70$, can't get the saleslady to bring it down to 59. Still, a very good deal. I was worried about the temperature because I like my coffee hot, turns out the highest temp setting is more than enough for me (tried it without milk though) :)
I would be tempted to get an extended warranty too due to the complexity of it, even though I don't normally buy them due to buyers already having CGA coverage. But does it say in the fine print of the warranty if it fails? Will they just refund you what you paid, which won't cover the cost of buying a new one, less the $59. Or will they fix it (which I am guessing is quite expensive), if they even have parts for it in NZ.
The sales person said they will try to repair it, if not, a refund of the product price will be offered. Details can be found on www.productcareclaims.co.nz
I would personally prefer they fix the faults, but don't think they can source the parts easily in the future.
I got one on boxing day, it broke yesterday - I turned it on, made some cracking noises and sure enough, I looked in the coffee power dispensing tray and a part was broken among other things falling out of place in the coffee compacter area as well. Took it back to the store and they are now ordering me in one from another store because of no stock. I know the CGA provides many year warranties but this time I couldn't be bothered with arguing with them with an almost guaranteed fault within the next few years so for the ease of not having to argue the CGA to a store person in the future I added two more years extended warranty to make it a total of three years for another $40.
