eracode: A couple of days ago I bought a Belkin StreamCast AV4 (a wireless HDMI transmitter/receiver extender system) from PB Tech in Queen St, Auckland, for $101 incl gst. They had several in stock.

These things currently sell in the US (Amazon, etc) for about US$250 = NZ$320. To get it to NZ with YouShop would cost about $30, so $350 all up.

How/why PB have them so cheap - don't know but I'm happy.

Thats a great deal. I went online but they dont have them listed. Maybe sold out already?

According to PriceSpy, PB have about 20 at various locations:

(Don't seem to be able to copy a live link via iPad)

Ah Ha! Its actually called a screencast, not streamcast which is what I was searching on. Thanks for the follow up.

Ah - sorry.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

hairy1: It is also a bit cheaper elsewhere. Alphacity has it for $75.....

Noticed that. Anyone know if I can stick this on MySky and transmit to another TV?

Yep but if you want to watch Sky in the original room as well, you may need an HDMI splitter because MySky has only one HDMI Out and you need one for the original room and one for the Belkin.

And thanks again. Will grab a splitter as well.

This is a bit like that stupid 'save money on your electricity bill' website! ;-)

Do people really bother chasing savings of $150 a year? I would not even notice so small an amount on our $5,000 annual leccy bill!

$1500 a year I'd get out of bed for but $150? Hardly.

Its nothing like it. This thread lets people know about good deals they come across.

Our annual bill was looking like being over $3k.  Powerswitch showed that we could save an estimated $500/year by changing.
$150 may not be much, but I bet that even for hugely wealthy and successful individuals, it's more than even you usually earn after tax for two minutes effort.

I went last night...picked up a Samsung S4 for $749. They had Samsung 51" full hd plasma for $650 i think. Cases were heavily discounted as well.

Don't forget that Noels will price match and give Fly Buys too - so that D3100 that Harveys will sell you for $495 ($749 list price at Noels!) could get you a fair way towards a new toaster.

Only if the store stocks it at the time. I have found that there are products that they never stock in their stores , so never have to price match.
