Just bought a $7 phone inc sim for the inlaws. The 60" LG Plasma for $998 seems pretty good.

Now if only there was 5.1 speaker deal . . . .

beware cheap plasmas - they tend to be utterly awful. find models and reviews.

It's full HD, has a few HDMI inputs and a wifi adaptor... for the money, it's big and cheap.
It's no VT60 Panasonic... but you'd struggle to get one of them! Certainly not for under a grand!!!!

$9 laser printer after $30 rebate

If you use coupon code WELCOME5 it becomes $4 :)

Thanks for that - worked well. Really moved the purchase into being a good deal :-)
Just a note - you have to edit the cart to apply the coupon, not at the payment end of the process.

Thanks ;-)

Popped in today as was passing. Didn't see any particular good deals. I was interested in the samsung  galaxy mini 2 they were advertising on their TV ad, as a phone for a parent, but no sign of it anywhere and looks to have been removed from their website.. Lots of $7 and $12 basic phones though.

went in today to pick up the $4 printer - apart from that it is hardly anything worthwhile. Kettle I bought from them a year ago for $79 was retailing for over $120. Lots of customers in there 'think' they are getting good deals

It may have been mega stupid, but it got people through the door, haha!

Many I saw didn't last long in the shop though having come in to check it out.

By a few hours into it all the covers had been removed as people were just giving up and walking out, rather than having to lift a flap every time they were interested in something.

I bet all that mattered to the manager was the CCTV footage of the foot traffic though ;)  I thought it was a stupid idea too...But I have to admit, even I had a burning urge to know what was behind the flaps as I walked past.  To someone who actually had money, sometimes all it takes is something like that to lure them in to the store and buy that thing they have been putting off buying for months.

We picked up a printer for the office, a phone for the inlaws, a Smoker and quite a few Xmas gifts all at very good prices and managed to get some further discounts out of them. All in all a good sale.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

those who bought the brother laser printer, can I ask how you set it up. I dare not rip up everything in case I need to return it.

It doesn't have wifi I presume?
So the only way to set it is with a USB cable?
My box has NO usb cable in it!

Please help :D

It has been common for years for printers to not come with a method of connecting to the computer.

It started in around 2000 when I was selling computer gear. I remember having to buy boxes of parallel cables from Computer Dynamics and coping abuse for no parallel cable being included in the box.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

I figured out from Google and the contents graphics on the box that out didn't come with one. Oh well since it's only $4 I bought one from Trademe for $2 pickup.

No, it doesn't come with usb cable. You will know that if you have read online manual in advance.
