Call me cynical, but I usually just yawn every time one of the electronics retailers has another sale.

bought a pair of headphones for $110, down from $170. Those of you who say the deal is crap need to realise that there is no margin in most techy stuff that we on this site like. Things like headphones and home theater audio systems are where the huge discounts are.

Just curious, what was the best price on pricespy ?
Some things do have good discounts, problem is figuring out what items they are . And then that discounted price may just be normal retail at some stores.

It's called loss leaders to get people in the store to buy higher margin things. eg. Do you want fries with that. So retailers will try to sell them things like cases and covers and extended warranties. etc
