Includes small appliances at Wairau Park too, there will be some good bargains there I think.

I'm wanting a tv. But generally cost plus gst with tvs is more expensive than a good sale.

There, added the link for you. Not sure why so many people find this so hard to do...

The wife wants to preempt this by going in during the morning to scope some stuff out :-)

Thanks. Most forums do it automatically. If you're on a phone it's a hassle.

Does anybody know if they discount PS4 games? It doesn't say it excludes PS4 games, and it wouldn't much of a saving but it all adds up :)

That's because these sales aren't really "cost + GST". Assuming they add the current rate of GST (15%) to the cost price, that's actually a quite large markup for electronics.

According to the fine print, cost is the average purchase price of the product, excluding volume related adjustments.

Ahh average purchase price excl volume discounts. That sounds really high.

Silly claim from JB. So it's really someone else's cost price plus 15% lol. Excludes mobile phones also.

Edit: Image clipped off full image/small print here

Plus side, they have a formal CGA thing sorted out for warranty:

It is a saving on a lot of things, but the 'headline' or catalogue items may well cost more (at Cost+ GST).
It is good for things like accessories, TVs etc not already on sale, HiFi gear (Amps, speakers etc), Phone Cases/chargers, DVDs/BluRay that aren't already discounted.

I went to one of these a few Xmas shopping seasons ago, it was so painful to pick out what you wanted and then find a staff member to tell you what each would actually cost. Never again

Interesting comment in NZ herald recently, in as much as Boxing Day sales, and New Years Sales are not that cracked up, and better to wait until after January as retailers need to move stock for the new year. Includes tech items, clothing, etc
