Dynamic:
mattwnz: Has anyone got one of these setup yet? I got one for my parents, and it has two major problems. One is that when you switch it on in the AUX mode for listening to the TV, and it will eject the disk tray.  The other problem is that after 20 minutes of watching tv though it, the amp/bluray unit switches itself off.

Will try mine this weekend.  I have an optical cable coming by courier.

mattwnz: To select between the different fuctions is also a pita. Switching back to AUX, from DVD playback is a mission, as you have to keep pressing the selector button, and it is very laggy with the switching, and often it will go into the radio setting. Panasonic hasn't invested much in their usability.

I have to somewhat agree with this.  Using the Selector button is very laggy and there are too many options to scroll through.  There is a better (but definitely not obvious) method, however (if you have the TV on).  Hit the HOME button, and then hit the OPTION button to see the list of inputs (Bluetooth, Radio, etc).  I've put a tiny label on the top of ours on how to switch to Radio when the TV is not on to display the menus (HOME, OPTION, DOWN, OK), as we are using this device as our living room radio.

Thanks for the tip, yes that is a lot easier to change mode.

I unplugged my unit to move it to a LAN connection, to install a firmware update, and when replugging it in, it has stopped ejecting when powering it on.  Although it still makes sounds like it is checking the disk. I will have to keep an eye on whetehr the eject problem reoccurs. It wasn't the firmware that fixed it though, as it stopped doing it before I installed it. I am using mine at the moment with just a normal analogue inputs on the  AUX, and not an optical cable, as I am also waiting for one to be delivered. But I don't think it has anything to do with that, as the instructions say you can use either. May have just been a glitch. The display sometimes does display totally random shapes which is a bit of a concern, so I think it could just be a faulty unit, time will tell. The sound quality of the speakers though on DVDs is pretty impressive with good bass, especially for the price.

For those that jumped on this deal apparently Noel Leeming are not participating in this promotion. According to the Panasonic site noel leeming will give you Noel leeming vouchers to the same value however I doubt that they will agree to do that either as the product was discounted already.

Where is your source? My Noel Leemings store had the cashback flyer instore next to their home theatres, so they were advertising it. So if it isn't honoured, they will be misleading customers. I did pick up the cashback  flyer when I got mine as proof.

My first unit was faulty, as it kept spittin gout the tray when switching it on. the replacement doesn't have this problem.

Check the Panasonic site and look at the redemption form, there is some info below that.

Did you pay $199 for the unit?

The noel leemings price was $199 a part of their Waitangi day sales, and then there is a cash back of $100 as per the flyers instore. I wouldn't have purchased it otherwise.

I have already filled in the redemption form earlier in the week, and didn't see any exclusions or info that excludes noel leemings.

It was a Panasonic flyer, adverting a countdown voucher. There was no exclusions on if it was previously on sale. The flyer was on a  pull off pad instore at my local noel leemings.

I still can't see your source, and where it mentions noel leemings will instead give vouchers. I want countdown vouchers, and not noel leemings vouchers anyway.

From the Panasonic site:

Available from authorised New Zealand retailers nationwide from 1 February 2015 - 31 March 2015. Offer via redemption through Panasonic. Terms and conditions apply. Just seen that now, they have just added that in in the last day or so, as it wasn't there before.I think Panasonic are going to have to honour that deal, as they were advertiing it instore at Noel Leemings, and they have changed it after I submitted the claim. The terms do say authorized panasonic retailers, and as Noel Leemings and they flyers adverting the promotion instore, I thought it was safe to presume they were a participating retailer. But according to the panasonics newly added sentence on their website, they now aren't But panasonic hasn't contacted me either to say they won't be honouring it, and for me to go back to noel leemings to honour it. They have made a big muck up on this.

If noel leeming had advertised in store the vouchers it's their problem. Go back and yell at them. Worst case return the home theater less box and other crap and demand a 199 refund.

Hmm, maybe they have just stopped honouring the promotion. Certainly not a good look for them.

It's not the people in the stores problem, so wouldn't put them though that. It sounds like someone higher up has mucked up. I will contact NoelLeemings call centre to see what their story is about it. I don't think they have any option but to honour it, and from a previous poster above it sounds like some people have received heir cashback already, so maybe it will be fine for people who filled in the form before they added that new clause to the form.

Interesting that the terms and conditions do say that it applies to retailers who are 'authorised distributors', and not a parallel importer, and it is up to the cusomter to ensure this, as only authorised distributors are participating in it.  As Noel Leeming had the panasonic cashback flyers instore, any customer would presume they were an authorised distributor, and they were a participating retailer. These things are never easy.
