Dicks Smith sent an email to say their boxing day sale begins today at 4pm. Although whether staff have put out sales tickets in store by then will be another  matter. Not sure if the deals will be that great though, based on their previous boxing day sales..

The T&C at the bottom of the Dick Smith email says "Offers contained in this email are available online only until 30/12/2015 unless otherwise specified or until allocation is exhausted."
So going by that, the deals are exclusively online only I would assume. They might have a whole other set of deals for their shops perhaps?

Not sure how they are allowed to  call it a boxing day sale, when it is actually a  Christmas eve sale.

It is also  badly worded, because it says the sale starts at 4pm, you shouldn't need to read the fine print to find out it is online only. Also it only says the deals in the email are only online, not that the sale is online only.  So one would assume that it starts instore too, but those offers in the email are online only.  Dick Smiths still have lots of dead links on their website, so I can't see it being a smooth process. This deal for a scanner/printer from their front page, just goes to a dead 404 page http://www.dicksmith.co.nz/multifunction-scanners/brother-mfc-j470dw-multifunction-dsnz-xp4701

Did the DS Email mention any specific items on sale or just 20% off all TV, 20% off all mobiles etc?

The two DSE stores I went to prior to xmas felt more like Funeral Homes than Electronics stores.

The original founder must be cringing now.

Looking at the DS homepage it looks like they have started? Barely anything for sale though under the "Boxing Day Sales", so maybe more tomorrow, it does say expires 25th Dec, not sure if that's tonight, or tomorrow night.

Im after a printer, probably a wireless one if anybody spots a good deal. Wouldn't really want to spend more than $50, but don't know the prices of them. Also if anybody notices discounts on Playstation Gaming cards then please post here or PM me :)

Cringing in his multi-million dollar mansion with his ferraris safely tucked in the garage next to the helicopter.

I'd take that :)

I get it though.

I think you'll find he has given away a fair amount of his wealth, he is well known for his generosity, there was a story on stuff or NZH today about it.

Dick Smith have 3 HDMI cables for $2 - that's a rip off compared to the 50c each last week!

I am having another look at the moment. 5 metre HDMI twinpack for $18, super hot deal. Two weeks ago I bought a single 5m cable for $5! 2x5=10. Now they want $18. WTF?

I also see a Driveview Tablet Mount for $15, another hot hot deal. I bought one a few months ago for the same price. Yet now they say the regular price is $64.98. Someone there is being disingenuous, dishonest, or incompetent. Do they really think people don't check the site more than once?

Once the 'Dick Smith Nines' have been and gone i believe we will find out whats really happening. They will be holding on till then as that will be big egg on their face if they folded before then.

Did they actually have an adequate amount of stock for this promotion? Online it says availability instore only. Yet the deal is an online only one. When I tried the site at 4pm, all the links just went to 404 error pages.
