I've just checked some YouTube reviewers' comments on 2018 LG OLED models. The biggest highlight is probably the "Black frame insertion" that Sony and Panasonic have done since 2017 with LG panels. LOL 

 

 

Sony were a little vague on what panels they would be using as well.

 

At the end of the day I don't think the panel will make that much difference - both Panasonic and Sony OLED TVs right now beat LG hands down with the same panel. Image processing is where it's at, and that's what most of LG's efforts have gone into.

 

I don't think you really can make an OLED panel much better when it pretty much is perfect now!

Is black frame insertion the same as some panasonic LCDs do where it basically intentionally adds flicker to the image making it gross like a cheap LED backlit monitor with PWM dimming?
