Let Chris from Crosstalk Solution tell you what he does with the yubikeys.

That was an excellent video and it explained things very well to answer my questions. Thanks!

Yes was a useful video.....but taking his dropbox example.   So on a browser - yep it uses the yubikey.

But signing in to the IOS app, it will only every present me with a TOTP code....and wont even offer to read the yubikey via nfc.

According to this link:

Dropbox only supports using a security key when signing in to dropbox.com using the Chrome or Firefox web browsers. You can’t use a security key to sign in to the desktop or mobile apps at this time. Don’t worry, you still have the option to use text or mobile app two-step verification on devices and platforms that don’t support U2F or WebAuthn, or if you don't have your security key available.

So looks to be a limitation with Dropbox and not Yubikey per se.

Yeah I figured I was blaming  dropbox app more than yubikey

After I received 10 YubiKeys within 3 days (in the EU from Sweden) during the first campaign and immediately gave them away to customers, I now ordered 4 more YubiKeys for myself yesterday with my completely separated private account and order code, but they cannot be delivered before the end of the year. So the campaign is still running! It seems that they have been overrun by the unexpectedly high rush.
