So is discussion/recommendations fair game or not? If we have guidelines to meet add it to the OP so we don't go 'overboard' talking headphones or HTPC's etc again ;)

Of course you can discuss. That last in depth discussion was going a little far though. It went past discussing an item on special, and starting looking like a thread on the HTPC forum ;-)

Warehouse have xbox360 for $150 today only.

It's a 4 gig model. What's the deal with putting drives I'm them? As easy as a ps3?

Personally I'd just put a 32Gb Sandisk Cruzer Micro in it. This will fit under the front flap so you won't actually see it. I did this for our slim 360.

You have to use the official microsoft ones, from memory $130 ish for 250gb. Or roll your own, using speical firmare on specific drives and then buying a xbox 360 case to put it in. Or you can use up to 32gb usb drives. I found one game, battlefiled 4 that would only install onto a HDD not flash drive, but th rest seem to install fine to the usb drive including apps etc.

I don't mind some additional discussions which help users to determine if a deal presented suits their needs. Recent questions like jonathan18's about "Can you load windows on an 8GB drive?", or richms's about "How easy can you upgrade a 4GB xbox360 drive?" are very likely to be popular requests. I think these types of questions and replies are fine to support a post on a bargain/deal, and they allow users to prescreen the offer against their requirements.

Specific area questions and answers should be in a new post, in the appropriate forum topic area. One of the main reasons for this is it allows users to locate that useful info more easily at a later date. This thread is in the Off topic section so it does get a bit of leeway, but it still pays to keep it on topic generally, and I think the Mods support this well. There is nothing unreasonable about their comments and requests on this.

Good points

easy if using an official HDD. if you role your own, you might not be able to play original xbox games (most likely not an issue) as it needs a special 8gb partition for those.
