KiwiSurfer:

sbiddle:

BNZ Platinum card is the only credit card in NZ that I'm aware of with this. Gem used to, but their site doesn't make any mention that I can see.

Just had a close look at the BNZ T&C and there are many interesting exclusions. E.g. mobile phones are excluded, internet purchases excluded, limited offers excluded, etc. Wonder if anyone has bothered to claim on it and whether it is easy to do so.

@KiwiSurfer I've made two claims, had one declined and another accepted, got $440 odd back.

The one declined was because I had paid $600 of the $1800 in cash (for a camera lens) and put $1200 on the card, T&Cs say that the whole amount has to be spent on the card.

The one accepted was for kitchen whiteware, bought ours from Kitchen Studio, Noel Leemings then had 30% off all whiteware during Black Friday sale about 4 weeks later.  It says to include a copy of the printed advert with your claim, but you can submit via email.  I scanned a copy of the flyer, which just had a generic discount statement, and attached that, then took screenshots of  the NL website for the three specific items, with SKUs, and attached those, and of course the original invoice with the SKUs.

Quite a bit of faffing around getting all the paperwork together, took about an hour so but at $440 not a bad hourly rate.

Not long after the accepted claim I got a txt asking me to participate in a customer satisfaction survey...never got a request like that for the claim that was declined.😀

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

Try and keep this thread to boxing day sales and not other BS like credit card terms and conditions etc.

Here is my Quic referral https://account.quic.nz/refer/39513 if you are keen to change ISP and to get free setup (save $29). I will get a $50 credit if you use this.  Thank you very much if you use my link but I'm sure there are quite a few others who could share the same on here, no hard feelings if you use a different link.

Jiriteach: I’ve been tracking a few item since we purchased a ton a few weeks back after moving into a new place.
We bought a new Fisher & Paykel dryer during Black Friday Sales - It’s $300 more now at Boxing Day!

I also purchased 2 x OLED Samsung TV’a - One is cheaper online price but at the time, I got a $400 gift card so works out the same!

Overall - the sales are hardly impressive!

QLED, Samsung does not make OLEDs

Looking at getting a 4K TV (I haven't bought a TV in probably 10 years).  The Samsung 43" RU7100 is ~$636 from a few places.  But a 50" would probably be better for future proofing.  HN have the Samsung 50" NU7090 (2018) for $746, but it looks like the RU7100 (2019) for $846 has bluetooth and slightly narrower bezel.

Hmm decisions... I think I'll get the later, JBHifi and PBTech have similar prices on it atm.

$15 voucher per $100 spent at Mitre 10. You need a bit of a strategy as the vouchers are valid for 90 days only so don't let them expire!

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Note these are store cards, iirc must be used at same store etc.

Yes I've been looking around for tablet deals too. Temped by the Galaxy S5e but not sure on it's performance? Can't bring myself to spend over $1k on a tablet.

Same but I also can't really get my head around accepting a lesser performing device.

Bunnings now stock the Dyson V7. HN has also dropped their price. You should be able to price match them, however they both have different SKUs even though they are virtually otherwise identical. That would make the V7 $372 if price matched. Let me know if anyone here manages to price match it.

I'd check the accessories first.
