E14 have advised that my expensive $466 3D printer has been shipped from the UK.

They have asked if I have a screenshot of the transaction showing the sale price. Have told them I don't.

I have also told them that I would not have completed the order if the high price had shown up at any time while entering my details.

Will see what happens.

Any update from the people who were charged the full price of the printer?

Also - is it normal for orders to be updated to Element 14's address? I made a new order with a lot of electronics stuff. Some was to be shipped from AU, some from the UK, Element 14 updated the delivery address to
ELEMENT14 NZ MASTER/VISA CC
PO BOX 74342
GREENLANE
AUCKLAND
1546
New Zealand

So, instead of my order being shipped directly to me, it seems to be going to them. Is this normal consolidation from them, or did one of their agents update the wrong address? The stuff from AU would already be here by the 13th if they hadn't changed the address. Now it's Awaiting collection by the consignee, and Forwarded to a third party agent. A bit annoying, at least I have my confirmation email showing my delivery address before they updated it to the above.

Apparently that is dhls fault and they were redirecting everything to the senders address when handing it off to NZ post. I had a call from the staff at the greenlane box lobby to get mine, and there was no way it should have been handed off to NZ post because it was huge.

All up with the lousy shipping and things sold that were not available, the broken website and slow customer service this has put e14 onto my shitlist.

I had a similar experience to others here. Completed an order online when the price was around $130 then a few days later got an order confirmation for $466. Replied asking to cancel, but no response. I phoned them up as soon as it hit my credit card and they asked for time to look into it and get back to me. (They confirmed I wasn't the only one affected.)

Then I got a silly email last week, saying UPS were having trouble delivering my parcel and that I should contact my "local UPS store". I replied that we don't have UPS Stores, and that they hadn't given me a tracking number. I also pointed out that I'd been told not to open the parcel anyway so I wouldn't be rushing to organise delivery.

But finally today I got both a credit note for the difference between the website price and what I was charged, and a tracking number for the UPS shipment.

The tracking details on the UPS site were revealing though. Not only had my parcel been to Philadelphia, Louisville, Honolulu, and Sydney on its way to Auckland (maybe normal for UPS?), there were several warnings about not being able to deliver to a PO Box. I can't see the address but from this thread I guess it's been sent to Element 14's own PO Box. The interesting thing is the first one of those warnings was immediately after it was scanned in Leeds, so I'm not sure that problem was part of the handoff to NZ Post.

All sorted.

After several emails and phone calls I have finally received a $320 credit on my credit card for the difference between the full price I was charged and the sale price.

I guess from now on I will take screen shots of any online purchases I make with special pricing. Don't want to go through this again.

Sometime over the weekend I should unbox the printer and see if I can get it to work. I can see this will be a learning experience. Could be character building?

In element14's defence they're normally very good, I've had next-day delivery from Australia on numerous occasions.  In this case it seems they got caught out with their automatic backfill system when one location goes out of stock and the system melted down from that.

Not really when they promise one price and just charge another without any confirmation. I would call something like that bait and switch. The shipping cockups appear to be DHL, who are working for element14 and I think mine got lucky and caught early enough and as I have a PO Box they could look me up and call.

I'd say for something to be a classical, genuine case of "bait and switch" there needs to be intent. This is clearly a systems or process fault so claiming "Bait and switch" is wrong.

I would second this - numerous purchases in the past with incredible international shipping.

Generally good if not great pricing and a selection that is pretty compelling.
