I got some cheap arcosteels from the warehouse a while back for my freestanding induction cooktop thing. Work fine on it. Not all of them listed induction but it was when they had one of their "all loose pots and pans sale" so I got the most expensive one which did list it.

billgates: RapalloAV will have 15% off everything from 26th December to 28th December.

Well that will only make them 25% more expensive than anywhere else after that then!

Their prices on SVS and JVC gear is good.

Have a sub and svs prime towers I got off them. Service was always good!

k14: Looking for the best laptop deal. Harvey have a few good ones. Apart from them and Noel leeming who else should I look for? Thinking i7 with 8gb of ram for about $900 or so?? Might be a bit optimistic?

Heh yes, and the Pope is a "little" Catholic :)

You might find something in that price range, but I'd be frightened to know what quality it is.

I have a Sony 13" Notebook which is i7, 6GB Memory, with 4x64GB SSD's in a raid 0, and dual graphics cards weighing 1.4KG you are welcome to for $650!

We can always dream :) Will pass on your offer though (very nice option!). After something with a 15.6" screen.

Get an i5, and a higher resolution screen. You won't miss the processing power, but you will find 1366 resolution to be rubbish.

Check out Lenovo's website, they have some good boxing day deals up too. Appears to be better value for $$$ than the big retailers.

Yeah good point. i5 with 8gb ram and ssd would be superior to low level i7. Want the bigger screen so that when I go away I can watch tv shows/movies.

Hell I'd take SSD 4GB and an I5. I'd suggest even consider a 1 year old machine.

Seems that finding that along with FHD (1080p) screen is pretty tough. This is the best I can find http://www3.lenovo.com/nz/en/laptops/thinkpad/thinkpad-edge/E550-Sub-Series/p/20DFCTO1WWENNZ1 (which is very nice btw).

What's the issue, it's a great buy! You can pickup a 250GB SSD for next to nothing these days. Even if your total spend was $1150 that would be a LOT better than anything else you have posted.

Shame that it has a dvd burner and a 2.5" drive in it tho. Makes for a needlessly chunky system.

If it were lighter and thinner, it would cost more.
What can you reasonably expect for $1000?
