rhysb: Just grabbed a Huawei Watch from Target for $272 USD.

I take it that even at that good price you'll be pinged GST etc at the NZ border? $272 US = c. $410 NZ, plus shipping costs to NZ...

I've been keen on getting one of these (ideally the $400 one), but once GST etc is added surely the saving's not significant?

Actually, I realised the one I wanted is $296 US; assuming about $25 for YouShop postage plus $120 duty etc, that totals just under $600. This watch is $699 at JB Hifi and Noel Leeming, so I'd save only $100 but have no CGA coverage. I think I'll see if one of these shops will give any discount off this or wait for it to come down in a sale...

Hey guys, so with all the Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals I thought I'd see if I could snag a headphone from Amazon. If the item is able to be shipped to NZ from Amazon.com will there be any extra charges after ordering it? GST etc? Or do I just pay on Amazon and that's it?

If the total is over 400NZD, then you'll get charged GST at customs. Otherwise it'll be fine.

zhuyan: It's for grab now!!!  The white one 32GB is $199; I just grabbed one! :)

Brought one for me, one for the wife.

Received this today.

"We wanted to let you know that we have shipped your items. We've combined 2 "Motorola Nexus 6 Unlocked..." from your orders together in the same package. "

Gee, thanks Amazon :-(

To think, I didn't get the 64GB one to avoid import duty...

I had things from the same shipper arrive a few days apart once, they charged me duty/fees on them as if they were combined.

I ordered one of those phones and one watch last week, on the same day but by two separate orders.  When Amazon dispatched both orders, it kindly combined two into one delivery...  luckily the combined value, together with a bit help of a slightly stronger NZD, didn't exceed the NZ$400 mark and it's now on its way to NZ in one shipment.

This reminds one of the need to be always aware of the exchange rate and the way shopping is done and when it's done, in view of the way Youshop operates.

As I found out the hard way, you have no control over the rate that they use when deciding if something is going to be hit for GST or not.

joker97: Always pay in nzd

The rates are terrible that way. Plus I have told them my card on it now is in USD in an attempt to get a proper US amazon cloud drive account so I dont have that option any more.

Did anyone end up buying a couple of spare 20100 Anker Batteries, one of which they would consider parting with? If so please contact me.
