I managed to get Noel Leeming to price match Harvey Norman on Sennheiser Momentum Wireless 2.0 ($899 RRP) with the 40% off, used a new customer voucher for $10 and ended up paying $529 at the counter, waiting for my $100 rebate that should come through in few weeks. It'll be $429 NZD for a pair of headphones that cost $410 USD at amazon.com!

In my opinion these sound better than Bose QC35, are more comfortable and better built, only things worse is the price (but not after this deal!) and the active noise cancelling is not as good.

I looked for a toner cartridge.  The chainstore were running promotions, NL or someone did 30% off but the prices were 30% more than online stores so at the end the same.  NL didn't have my toner, HN did but that price assuming it wasn't discounted was 30% more than online stores.  PB Tech was discounted 5% to be 3% less than online stores but then you add another 5% for delivery charge (no pickups during sales) and maybe cos it is online when the stores are closed there maybe a credit card surcharge as well.

Well I got some bedsheets at Briscoes and cutlery and a frying pan.  25% off a oil filter at supercheap.

Coupon PRCMEFREE for free shipping at PB Tech still works I believe

If anyone sees any reasonable deals on home theatre amps post it up - the ones that normally tend to show up with this haven't so far.

Nothing spectaular at harveys when I was there. All looked to be normal sale prices for them on those - 10-20% off the normal obcene prices.

Boxing day is always about the TVs. I would say audio (especially pricy audio) price is always about the normal discount level, all depends how you talk to the sales person to get the extra.

Harvey does have some killer deal of soundbar though.

Thanks but the diff for the toner at PBT was only $5 less than Computer Food (Consumables NZ) .  Do they surcharge credit card - I know they do in-store?  Or do they support bank deposit on these one day sales?  I'll just get it any other day.

Looks like JB is having a new sale tomorrow. Laptops included this time if anybody is after a new laptop like myself.

Can anyone recommend me the smartest (ie a smart tv that works!) UHD TV >55" under $2000?

I just am unable to make any comparisons as I still live in the dinosaur age (Full HD Plasma!)

All I know is at the moment I use a PS3 for Netflix, a laptop to stream home videos over network and play youtube, and a mySky to record TV.

Would there be a TV that can do Netflix, youtube, stream home video in 4K? Better still, record TV?

Really not too worried about picture quality at the moment as I do not have a single UHD Blu Ray and have no intentions on getting a player.

Why did I ask about UHD then ... umm because all across the board Full HD TVs are more expensive!

How's the state of 4K content at the moment? I remember paying around the same for a 1080p TV really early on, but it wasn't till years later that most content I watched was 1080p.

By then, all TVs were significantly better than what I had even though the standard would be 1080p for much longer.

YouTube and Netflix offer 4k on some content, plus there are some 4k blurays and any content off phones/cameras you have etc.

That's because people want 4K so they're delivering cheap 4K panels.

The reason many of the full HD panels are more expensive in that price range is because they're typically better quality panels.

I'd be very surprised if it will be any better than boxing day sales. I'd like to believe you have been misled.

JB didn't have any discounts on laptops on Boxing Day so I think he will be correct. Whether it is cheaper than December sales is another matter.
