Micro SD card included in their cyber Monday sale advertising as normally $48.99 and down to $21.85, but click on it and the normal price right now is $39.00 😂

Still a reasonably significant saving on the 'everyday' price - even if it isn't quite as much as they make it out to be.

Don't disagree, but I believe it's still a breach of the Fair trading act to make knowingly false claims about price of items you are selling.

There is nothing dishonest about offering a promotional price on an item now and different one this evening, so long as the rules establishing the 'normal' price are followed. The product may have been $48.99 a few days ago, or may be again tomorrow.

Most stores only quote their price and RRP, so PB Tech is more upfront than many stores. If there is no promotion, only the normal price is quoted.

I am saying I believe their "normal price" is being incorrectly reported. As I understand it, that's a breach.

But that's essentially what PB Tech are doing in this example.

If you buy it from them today, during the non sale period, it's cheaper than the normally price they're quoting in their sale add.

So in this case their normal price quoted is essentially RRP, as it's certainly not the price you could buy it for (under normal non sale conditions) right now being quoted.

I find with PB it's best not to look at the "discount" but just at the sale price given and see if that justifies a purchase - in comparison to other stores and online.

I thought the p20 pros look a pretty good deal, I just wish they had a decent deal on an xbox as i get interest free and other points on one of my credit cards when i spend over $1k.

More than $7 million dollars worth of consumer technology products were purchased in five hours, in one of the country’s biggest ever tech sales on Friday - with a further $8 million of purchases expected later today.

More than 500 4K TVs; 1000 smartphones, 4000 headphones, and 1500 laptops were among the items purchased by 25,000 customers during the five hour sale at PB Tech stores.

The biggest growth categories were 4K TVs which were up 120%, with headphones up 110% and smartphones up 85% with Kiwis reportedly buying these as Christmas gifts.

The rapid expansion of new product lines such as robotic vacuum cleaners saw strong growth for the relatively new entrant for this year, with 150 sold and sales growing by 3300%.

PB Tech spokesperson Mark Dalton says the Black Friday sale was the biggest in the company’s history, with 30% growth in sales on the previous year, and reflects changing shopping patterns.

“We see more and more people using Black Friday as their main shopping day to get gifts sorted for Christmas.

“Black Friday and Cyber Monday are now considered the world’s top shopping days, and PB Tech was one of the first retailers in NZ to offer these sales in 2012, this is our eighth year running these events,” he says

Dalton says the online only Cyber Monday sale which starts at 6PM is expected to add a further $8million in revenue.
