After very exhaustive searching. This I think is the best laptop deal I can find, http://www.harveynorman.co.nz/event/the-big-sale/hp-pavilion-15-ab113ax-laptop.html

Got a ssd, full HD 15.6 inch screen and 8gb ram. Only question mark is the AMD A10 CPU, does anyone have any experience with these? Hard to find any solid info. I know it will do what I want but will the heat output be ok? Haven't really had much experience with AMD since my old athlon about 15 years ago!

It’s AMD A8 a step down from A10. They are alright, I have an A10 and really good lounge pc. Performance wise they are at Intel i3 level, or slighty less.

Yeah just realised it was A8. This one is very similar but A10 CPU with 16gb ram and no ssd. http://www.harveynorman.co.nz/computers/laptops/hp-pavilion-15-ab026ax-laptop.html

Info is pretty scant on these AMD cpus. Intel is so dominant!

Yoga Pro 3 3200x1800 256ssd for $1993

http://www.harveynorman.co.nz/computers/laptops/lenovo-yoga-3-pro-intel-core-m-5y71-laptop-256gb.html

I'm tempted.

Anyone spot any other 3200x1800 laptops? I can't find ASUS 305 or HP x360 anywhere.

Their website will show it, but they won't have any in stock... even if they do, they won't be able to find it.
Just saying...

Wow, is that really a laptop for 2000 bucks, that is considered a bargin?

That's crazy. How much does it normally rip you off, I mean cost?
