This is crazy. Warehouse email has  a 250W bench grinder for $20. My god. Same price as 2Kg of tomatoes in winter!

Now it wont be great, but for $20 to have one lying around is a great buy for the odd lawnmower sharpen and other stuff. I needed a planer for a 10 minute job so I bought an XU1 for $30. Its heavy and still works great.

I picked up the last one of these from my local Warehouse, but when I switched it on it just kept blowing the fuse, so had to take it back for a refund.

Crazy alright, sorry for going off topic and I’m not criticising you personally, but I hear this way too often. And people wonder why we’re filling our landfills and oceans with crap, and I’m certainly no Green party member - couldn’t be further from it.

:-)

My cheaper than chips planer is fine. I reckon this cheaper than chips grinder is fine too. Not to use all day every day, but $20???  Crazy good deal. For the occasional use. I expected my planer to weigh 3 ounces. Its heavy.

And do you think they packaged back up your $20 grinder and shipped it back all the way to China to be be repaired?
Or did it get chucked in a bin out the back of the Church of The Mighty Warehouse and go to the tip?

I know it's off topic but there's already been a bit of discussion on price matching in this thread so i thought I share my experience from last week.

Was looking for a small finishing sander and had settled on this Makita model. There's both a Bunnings and Mitre 10 within 1km of us but I prefer to shop at Mitre 10 when they stock what I'm after ($199 in Mitre 10).

https://www.mitre10.co.nz/shop/makita-1/4-sheet-sander-200-watt-teal-and-black/p/267122

Before proceeding to the checkout I checked the Bunnings website on my phone to find the same model advertised at $165. I asked the team at Mitre 10 to price match and they did including the 15% lower so I walk out only paying $140 for it.

https://www.bunnings.co.nz/makita-1-4-sheet-palm-sander_p00118575

Still advertised in Bunnings for $165 so if anyone is in the market.

Maybe I should have put this in the bargains Forum?
