Guidance required for subject headers in this "Bargains and Deals" forum?

At the risk of being labelled a pedant or worse, can I please suggest that a requirement of posting in this forum is the use of accurate and thorough (but concise) subject headers? This would really make it that much easier to determine whether a post is of interest or relevant.

The last three posts' subjects provide classic examples:

* "48hrs deal blast and 10% off site-wide with visa checkout" (where?)

* "Car Headunit deals" (I assumed this was pointing out deals, as opposed to asking a question; how about "Any car headunit deals available at the moment?")

* "oneplus one" (?)

If agreeable to this suggestion, perhaps such a statement could be included in the posting guidelines for this thread?

Agree. I want to know exactly what the deal is when I see the title in my email alert.

Although I would like to see some better headings too the forums are open to anyone so other than the obvious FUG rules about posting there's not much you can do about it. I do agree those last 3 headings were not that great.

I was hoping to see a headunit deal, Had to look up what a Oneplus one was the other week and although it was good to see the deal from Newegg it would have been better to see it actually named in the heading since the idea of following the forum is that we get to click on deals that could be of interest not having to click to see what the deals are.

Hear, hear! Fully agree.

Especially as geekzone insists on not including any post content in the notification emails, meaning the email header is all you've got to go on.

Similar info is defined on the offers/wanted section, so maybe some simple inclusions, such as DEAL or QUESTION up front would help too, in addition to sensible wording in the first place.

I propose something like:

[D|Q] [Store] - <Anything you want here>

If it's a deal (D) then the store must be namechecked, i.e.

[D] [Dick Smith] - $10 off foobars until next year
[Q] - Is this deal on foobars a good buy?

The number of time moderators change subjects in new topics is incredible. People sometimes post "HELP" or "New router" or something completely unrelated.

I totally accept that no "rule" can or will force compliance, but surely adding in some guidance into that first thread would sort out some of the problems? Also, if a formalised system of noting "deals" or "questions" (or whatever is agreed) is used within just this forum, users will clearly see the expectations simply from the subject headers posted by others (much as there appears to be general compliance with the titles of posts in the FS/wanted forum).

Also I wouldn't like it to the the source of spamming. eg. A retailer getting someone to post a sale, such as 20% off selected things at a particular store, which in reality are just price rotations. I would prefer it was used for genuine bargains and one offs. Such as someone seeing a product that is on clearance at a really great price, and that is all mentioned concisely in the header. Something like the 3 posting here, which is

Lumia 625 @ $180 from the Warehouse

It tells you the product, the price and the store.
