Since my earlier woes with iparcel I have been upgrading my shipping to amazon global expedited (the middle of the three options).

It usually costs $5-$10 more, and is great because they were using DHL who were very good.

But I ordered two items last week using expedited and they are now sending them through iparcel, even though i selected expedited.   Now my order is stuck in "Your shipment has been flagged for review of the contents prior to export" for the last 5 days.

I guess I'll switch back to the cheapest option again since it goes the same as expedited anyway.

Our duty as Geekzone members is to warn others about iparcel + Amazon. It is not worth the wait or the trouble.

Let Amazon know about it too. Eventually common sense will prevail.

Iparcel has got to be the worst logistics company in the world

I see they have finally fixed the spelling of shipment on their tracking page.

I contacted amazon after posting here and they gave me a full refund of my shipping costs.   But, they also said they couldn't guarantee that expedited shipping will not be sent as 'standard' (iparcel) for my future orders.

Iparcel (do they think they are apple?) were OK in the early days but their service has deteriorated quite significantly since then.

I have been informed by Amazon you can request they don't use iParcel where possible. I have been warned however, that if you change any minor detail about your address information, this flag would be removed. They also told me this can take a few weeks to implement.

Unfortunately for them, they used iParcel for an item which shipped not long after I made this request, and even though it was a shorter period than they advised could be required for this change to be made on the account, I have decided to cease all purchasing from Amazon until such time as they stop using this service.

iParcel packages are usually delivered on the estimated day, or a day or two late, even if it means the packages sit in excess of a week somewhere in New Zealand. I can get stuff from China quicker. You also have no idea which company will deliver the item, and sometimes they are passed from iParcel to a courier, who then uses another courier for actual delivery. It's a nightmare trying to work out where your packages are. They also used Fastway for the most recent delivery, and I refuse to have anything to do with that company due to their dodgy behaviour.

I'd never heard of i-parcel until recently. My last Amazon US order was expedited (because I wanted it quickly) and it came quickly, through NZ Couriers with an i-parcel label. Is that normal or is it possibly a local thing (I'm in Whakatane)?

Edit: This was typed before Sir Humphrey's post.

iparcel use regional carriers to shift parcels so it's normal

anything sent by iparcel is best ignored then you'll get a surprise when it eventually turns up

imo the "flagged for review" is just their version of "your shipment is sitting on a pallet for 1-2 weeks before we send it"

So thats why my Sonic Highways vinyl has been listed as "Package arrived at destination country" on 29th November, but still has an ETA of 9th December!

I had that with 1 of my tablets, shipped from Amazon a day apart from each other, both by iparcel, both got to the country the same day, 1 was in my hands 1 day after it turned up in NZ, the other just turned up today 1 week later (on the due date from amazon).

As you have no idea what courier they will use you cant put a PO Box for delivery with iparcel deliveries.

If they would always use one it wouldn't be a problem since I try to avoid my local post haste driver as they are a insist on ringing the doorbell at 8am despite having an authority to leave.

Never had a problem with iParcel, have learnt that things are going to arrive on the due by date and if it is any early - that is a bonus.
In order to achieve that due date, parcels do 'sit around' either in the USA or New Zealand until ready to move. For the cost of postage that Amazon charge, I am more than happy with the artificial delay.

My copy of GTAV (sent via Amazon/iparcel) has been "Package arrived at destination country" since November 24th.  It's painful how long it sits at customs.

Conversely I bought some large, stuffed Disney Frozen toys from AliExpress AFTER I ordered GTAV from Amazon and they arrived two days ago.  Shipping was free from AliExpress too!

I don't get it.

It arrived today, well ahead of the ETA. Was also in a hideously large box, so I'm glad I didn't have to YouShop it :-)

It appears my Stream 7 has been the victim of an airline delay via iParcel - in New Zealand.....

I am confused. Didn't think there was a service from AKL International to Waitakere...

First experience with iParcel completed today and I have to say it was relatively painless.

Ordered a Stream 7 on Nov 23rd on Amazon, arrived today (3/12/14) mid afternoon via NZ Couriers. Tracking information was updated regularly and thankfully it didn't suffer from the random 'held for inspection' checks that some other GZer's items have. All up 10 days for an item with free shipping from the US, I really can't complain about that.

I think I'd give iParcel a go again in the future.
