I've seen a few of these auctions recently, someone might get a bargain depending on final price.

Pickup from Auckland only, and add 20% to the price.

No one on trademe was interested at $1150 start. Incl the buyers premium the cheapest one is about $770 so far.

I'm not super sure if Grays Online should be put into Deals and Bargains, it is an auction site for non warrantied/second hand goods

Those ones on grays don't like that cheap. You could get 60 inch h6300 for about 1400 ish on special.

I paid 1999 for 60 inch h6400 3d.

I'd say they are only worth 1k.

Only great deals I've seen at Grays have been smoke damaged electronics, even laptops with box damage(ie pallet knocked over) seem to go very close to retail pricing

People pay far too much on greys for things with no warranty. They may as well be second hand off the back of a truck but they pay close to noel leeming prices.

20% buyers premium is high IMO. Most auction houses are 12.5- 15% for buyers and sellers.

Much like TradeMe - grays used to be much easier to find bargains - now not so much.

The laptop auctions (lots of Sony gear) hit crazy prices on all units for Gen 3 Core i5 - it looks a lot like dealers buying them all up.

I scored a Probook 4740s for $500 a year ago - was hidden amongst a bunch of random IT stuff in the auction.

But if the auction is for laptops, ipads, phones specifically they will be very competitive.

and for non-Aucklanders and no-pickup auctions their freight charges are exorbitant too.

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.
