Hi all
Back in December there were a few of us that got the HP stream 7 for US $99 from Amazon.

Just pointing out for the new 2 days (till the 24th) you can get the HP Stream 8 from Noels or JBhifi for $169 (saving about $100)

Comes with full windows 8.1 and 1 year office 365 as well.

Good little machines and great for email or web while sitting watching tv.
The Stream 8 has an 8" screen and better speakers than the 7" stream.

So for that price it makes a good birthday present etc.

How well does it do HD playback of youtube vids (720p), or video files? any stutterring etc?

Youtube not bad at 720p (HD) better at a lower rate but the picture did not stall out and sound was fine.
No problems with video files (3gig 1080p file over wifi and vlc)

This is a Stream 7 however.

I have been umming and ahhing on one of these for a week or so, very nearly hit go on a Stream 7 via Amazon for USD79 but procrastinated as i couldn't decide on 7" or 8"

Ironically i was looking at these at JB yesterday, $179 for Stream 7 and $228 "on special" for Stream 8

Have just ordered one online through JB's as they offer free shipping, NL want an extra $6 for the privilege :P
