I don't mean to be the bargain-police but isn't this just a wee bit against the rules (3rd line item - no advertising).
This may or may not be a good deal, but if everyone who had something to offer started posting in here like this it would become a hell of a mess very quickly.

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

It was in a subthread for some special geekzone users.
Freitasm suggested putting it in here.
So there you go. Take the deal or not, it's the best you will ever get, I don't mind at all if you delete it, safes us a ton of money.

As above - I suggested because this was posted in one reply in another topic, so I thought it was a worthy thing to mention.

The "no advertising" rule still stands as we don't want people to join in JUST to post this kind of things.

I purchased a couple of cables from this outfit because of the above discount offer. In fact, they were not actually all that cheap. Then I discovered that one of the cables (HDMI) is faulty. I wrote a complaint letter two days ago asking for an exchange or refund but received no reply. I just wrote a follow-up and it was bounced back to me as undeliverable. So I checked the web site link posted above and it is gone. No trace of these people and no way to contact them. No huge deal, I only lost $12, but it does leave a sour taste. Freitasm, if Garryjay is still an active member please give him a kick in the bum for me.

There's a mobile number if you pull the who-is records or google search the company name.

It's also a registered business

Maybe try sending a posted letter to the address there and see what happens? It's worth it if they even just refund you. But screams dodgy tbh.

Thanks for the link but for $12 I can't be bothered. Judging from the disappearing act, I doubt I would ever get it back.

How did you pay? This is what chargebacks are great for.

I suggest banning this user would be appropriate if they don't reply with in a day or so, temporarily to start with, and proving them a way to contact MF to give their side of the story. They clearly joined to advertise their business, now they've proved to be disreputable. We don't need that kind of person on GZ.

I did pay by debit card but it was a couple weeks ago. I wanted the cable to do some tests and at first when it didn't work, I assumed the fault was with the device rather than the cable and I put it aside. It was only when I needed it for something else that I finally discovered the cable itself was faulty. So some time has passed since purchase, which was on 31 March.

Looks like they went under. Do a chargeback, credit card company will eat the cost, that's why you pay relatively high fees.

You can do a chargeback for a fairly long time after a purchase is made, but I am not sure whether the scheme rules apply to debit cards (V & MC) as well as credit.

from the Consumer website:

Some banks will allow up to 2 months to apply for a chargeback, others give you 30 days

Edit: It appears this applies to Scheme debit also
