With the exchange rate at a terrible 0.67 it makes many things disappointingly expensive, especially if the shipping is costly. Hopefully the discounts are good enough to counter this.

Also make sure you keep in mind the GST threshold because of the low exchange rate is approximately $270USD, including your shipping cost. This will be less if the item also attracts duty. Be sure to budget for this when buying multiple/expensive items.

exchange rate is all relative

if its expensive, it means the equivalent NZ$ pricing hasn't gone up yet right?

Yup, so while stocks last some items might be cheaper here, or nearly as cheap and take into account warranty etc.

Exactly. And many retailers/supplier could absorb changes in exchange rates, or at least not pass on the full cost to the consumer.

Anyway that was just posted as a FYI re: customs mostly.

Hmmm, not seeing any super amazing deals myself. Seems a little over hyped so far.

Thats my impression as well. Mind you, a Fire TV stick at 24 USD is pretty cheap.

With the dollar the way it is, would have been cheaper to buy at full price a few months ago now, I suspect. Unfortunate.

Oh well, I bought (well I think I did) a FireTV from the UK. Not much of a bargain with the exchange rate and paying VAT and Youshop, but that's what I get for prevaricating I guess.
