I'm not even sure if this is worth posting, as their deals should be taken with a huge pinch of salt. can always be deleted by the mods I guess.

Pretty much as the title suggests. I did have a quick look at laptops for the in-laws, and noticed that their current promotional prices expire today, so will be interesting to see how much they go up by.

It is really just another way of giving a percentage discount, although the retailer benefits because the discount needs to be used to buy something else for the money they have been handed back in the form of a voucher. It is fine if you were going ot buy something else for over $250. But gift cards expire, and people forget about them, so many are not  ever used. So the retailer does quite well out of it, just good marketing. Many people will also use it to be upsold on high margin things such as laptop accessories, so the $250 will just go to that.

Just chatted with Noel Leeming online - they seem to know nothing about this promotion OP.  What's your source?

I agree mattwnz. It's only useful if you are after a specific item, and it is cheaper than anywhere else.

Geoffispure, I spoke to someone that works at Noel Leeming. I might have got it wrong as I was in a rush, but not sure, sorry.

Will find out tomorrow I guess.

It can be useful - I used this a few months ago when buying a Sony camera and they had a 20% off promo at the same time, so got 20% off a single lens kit and used the voucher for an additional lens which ended up costing the princely sum of $30.

I find them a good idea, I purchased a fridge and talked them into a discount on that, got the $250 card.
They had a samsung surround sound system for $300 down from $600, used the $250 card and paid $50.

That would be rare though I would think. You usually find, as in this case, that the percentage sale promo ends the day before the new promo comes in. It is a bonus though when they overlap. Usually the best ones are manufacturer cashbacks, along with a healthy percentage off sale rotation.

You don't need to use the $250 card in the same sales time frame, mine was to be used within 3 - 6 months if I remember correctly.

Damn, I will have to watch more closely for those, as that would make it really good value. Just got an email about the $250 deal, and looks like the $899 purchase has to be a single product

I notice it does say  " Don't miss the two day Noel Leeming gift card deal! Get a bonus two hundred and fifty dollar gift card, with every product you purchase eight nine nine and over on selected BIG BRANDS! Hurry, this offer is two days only! Ends midnight Thursday. Plus, get 12 months interest free on total purchases over $499 - including Apple computers & iPads! "

However the brands below don't show Apple as one of the brands included. I wonder if they have made a muckup. Apple aren't normally included in these types of promotions.

So the way i read it,

Buy any product over $899 from the list and you get a $250 gift card that you can use on your next purchase.
Next purchase you can use it on any product (iphones/ipad etc).

Haven't seen latest offer, but if its like the last one I used then sounds about right, and your next purchase can be 1 minute after you get the card. Can use on something related to your first purchase, hence me effectively getting a camera twin lens kit for (more or less) the price of the single kit.

Its a bit underwhelming, though if you're after a camera, Canon 70D with 18-135 is $1498 at the mo (pretty good I think from a non parallel importer and considering exchange rates), and you could use the gift card for a prime lens or a flash or something.
