IMHO, this sounds too good to be true.

Referral links to services I use, really like, and may be rewarded if you sign up:
PocketSmith for budgeting and personal finance management.  A great Kiwi company.

The problem is the average consumer doesn't really know if a deal is genuine or not, or an error. I suspect the $500 normal price is highly inflated so they can discount it by heaps.

I'm using their 3 yr subs and found them an ok service. Connects 99% of the time, won't be as fast as the other more expensive vpns. Streaming is fine, also used it for gaming on one of those days where the latency to us east coast servers goes high for no apparent reason.
They also have android and ios support.

Can post some speed test if anyone is interested, let me know which country and city.
Bear in mind speed test does not always tells the whole story.

There is little doubt the normal price is inflated.

I'm more concerned about the lack of ongoing fees for this company to pay for bandwidth or infrastructure upgrades in the future.

ech3lon indicates his experience is excellent so far.  Long may that continue!

To tell you the truth, everytime they advertises the lifetime sub, it reinforces me not to resubscribe, fearing they may just run away with the money and ditch the product or as you said, failing to give same amount of bandwidth-usage ratio later on.

I'd say you get what you pay for, don't expect the same amount of service/reliability with another more sustainable business model.
