Same, ordered one from HN = Free Shipping.

Ready some reviews and they are pretty solid. Do you know the difference between XL and I ? or is that L = Large?

The XL is the bigger, over the ear, as oppose to ON the ear.

Not sure what the "i" is for, maybe has buttons for iPhone instead of Android, just a guess.

Got a call from HN saying they cannot fulfill the order because they only have opened or demo boxes left in all the stores.

The links is no longer working. They are issuing me a refund.

I have placed an order for pickup in Noel Leeming now.

If anyone receives theirs and doesn't like them, and would like to swap for the recent Sony Bluetooth noise cancelling deal, then please let me know.

I've used my Sony's a few times on the bus to work, and honestly prefer the sound of my basic $60 Sennheiser 202s.

Your results/requirements may vary to mine.

FWIW I decided to go upstream with Sennheiser - scanned the NZ market

and ended up purchasing HD 650s from William at eGlobal in Sydney for just under NZ$400

- coincidentally the cuttoff point after which Customs add GST .

PBT price around $649

After combing quite a few stores, I finally found a pair, but it was after the sale had ended and they we're back to full price.

Very well bought at that price!!!

I am also looking to buy the HD650 however the cheapest as of today I find available is NZ$598 from PBTech

Would you please advise whether that price is still available? Thanks

EGlobal in Sydney have stopped selling HD 650s - Sennheiser want to 'guide' you

to HD 700s or 800s. However many folks think the 650 sounds better than the later models

I did see a pair on EBAY for under $500 NZ but as a new boy I cant post you a link.

Of course if you want real up market, go for the Senneheiser Orpheus at $75K a pop

Stuff has an article detailing them - search sennheiser, and ponder about human sanity :-)

Thanks reply.  I only need a decent pair of headphone to go with my Sony NW ZX2+PHA-3 and I find HD650 perfectly suitable for it; I was thinking about the HD800 (in that NZ$1900-$2000 range) but can't justify that with my partner...

I think I will end up getting one from PBTech below $600; still not too bad given it's selling over us$400 on amazon

Good move - you won't regret the HD 650.

And from PB you have a warranty. I have found PB good to deal with.

You might consider BlueLounge headphone stands. They are not expensive

and keep the 650s (somewhat) out of harms way
