The Warehouse is selling their entire range of Super Black Racing oils for $19/4 litres.

What makes this noteworthy is that one of the oils on offer is a semi synthetic blend and that is a remarkable offer.

Note 1: Super Black Racing is a motorsport team and the oil is for road cars it is not a racing oil.

Note 2: I do not want to get into religious debate about semi-synthetic vs full synthetic, it's just a good deal.

I know at the store I'm at, that stuff has been sitting around for a looooong time out back.

That's why I buy oil from an auto store where it's turned over more frequently. Oil has a shelf life.

Just make sure the SAE rating meets or exceeds what your car calls for, not just the weight of the oil and you'll be sweet.

I've tried good semi-synthetics, full synthetics and dinosaur oil and each has a different effect depending on the engine.

I used a semi, my valves started tapping. I switched to full the tap went away 1 minute later (hydraulic valves with pin hole oil paths) so I'm stuck on expensive full.

I tried a SAE rated oil for my gearbox (dinosaur) and 1st and second become difficult to shift the next day when cold like bad syncros. Switched to semi and the next morning shifted like new again.

For $19 if the car doesn't like it, it's not like it was expensive if it needs replaced. If it doesn't mind it, nice price. I wouldn't buy spare bottles though if it's going to sit around another 6 months on top of the sitting around in the stockroom.

I highly doubt it's been sitting round for 5+ years
