Same price as Noel Leeming have it for in this week's junk mail - https://www.noelleeming.co.nz/shop/cameras-phones/phones-and-gps/open-network-phones/lg-nexus5x-nexus-5x-smartphone-black/prod142983.html?ref=pricespy

Given both have it reduced to the same price, I guess that rules out playing one off against the other with their price guarantees?

I think so; that's what I was getting at in my post above yours: if the product is the same price, does this price guarantee apply? (ie, wouldn't it have to be cheaper at the other store?).

Feels about the right time of year for it to be a end of stock sale

I brought my Nexus 4 around the same time in 2013 for the same price; several months later the Nexus 5 was released - at that time I needed a phone

This time I don't as the 4 is functioning well so I am conflicted if I spend the money or not

I don't know that it is end of stock; a few months back I bought mine from Noel Leeming for $550 (down from the $750 or so that they did have it at). They seemed to sell out at that price really quickly, and they pulled the deal from their site not long after. My friend tried to order one a few days after me and was told they didn't have any more available, and was refunded.

I figured that was probably the end of the 5X at Noel Leeming.

Come to this week, and the $499 deal is on. Looking on the site, every single store was listed as having it in stock yesterday. We picked one up for my wife, and that friend who previously missed out got hers too (different city). It feels like they've just bought a whole heap and are flicking them off.

As for the price being the same, aren't all these stores owned by the Warehouse Group now anyway?

Ok here is how you get it cheaper from WHS with 5% off

The nexus 5x in white is still $599 but noels has it for $499

Someone go and point that out and you should get the white one for around 475 :)
