However, I failed to complete the order using my NZ Credit Card and there is no paypal option.

If someone has a Virtual USA Credit Card they can get this at a very good deal. I would not mind sharing with them for youshop shipping charges. I need 3 off them.

Walmart have them for $29.

I just recently bought some from them. Just use PayPal to pay and ship to YouShop.

How much was shipping by YouShop?  Have you got any experience with Amazon Echo. I am trying to decide between the two.

Cost me $25 to ship 2x Google Home Mini's using the "fast shipping" option last time. I prefer Google Home to Amazon's Echo mainly due to the privacy policy on the Home and the fact I've verified it does not transmit sound until the keyword is heard. I am a bit iffy with the Echo.

From memory it was less than $20 for one unit for youshop. I needed up consolidating packages so that saved some money.
The min charge from memory is $12? for economy, but despite the weight falling under 500g for the unit the packaging pushed it up into the 500g - 1kg.

Only received mine yesterday and haven't got an echo so can't compare. But I figure if you pay $60 all up you will be able to sell it on trademe or here on Geekzone for what you paid so will get your money back worst case.

And echo is not compatible for NZ location for weather updates etc unless you tweak it in a nasty way. But Google Home works to NZ.

Also check B&H Audio for pricing & shipping. They often have similar good deals and reasonable shipping to NZ (assuming they will ship the home mini to NZ now - wouldn't earlier in the month)

B&H would not ship to NZ for Google Home Mini. I have tried that. Wallmart has accepted my order using Paypal (which has NZ address) and YouShop - hopefully they will ship now.

I also prefer Google Home. The contextual understanding and amount of queries it can answer are far better.

The Echo's would also get false triggers far more often than the Google Home. (Few times a week for Echo, maybe once a month for Google. Actually can't remember the last time GH has done it, think it's been improved.)

I believe the Echo is coming to NZ soon, so the issue with not supporting NZ address will be resolved fairly soon.

Depends a bit what ecosystem you're more heavily invested in. Echo's certainly aren't bad, I just think Google Home is better.

Now if only they would make them look like a piece of technology and not an old sack.

I just grabbed a google home mini from B&H and shipping it to youshop.

Did anyone use the free $10 B&H voucher deal for each google home ordered, and have any left over unused vouchers that are about to expire.  I'd like to grab a google home (big version) as well.  You can no longer receive the $10 voucher with google home purchase, but the vouchers that people received haven't expired yet.

Cheers

Australian NY sales have these at 2 for AUD $74-78 at JB Hifi, Harvey Norman, Office Works and a few others. Just can't find anyone who will ship them to NZ.

If anyone wants one and is happy to wait until end of Jan, I could potentially pick some up while I'm in Aus. 2 for $79 AUD at JB HiFi but unfortunately they don't do delivery on these for some reason. Also out of stock in the areas I'm going to be in. However, Harvey Norman (2 for $74AUD) and Office Works (2 for $78AUD) are doing delivery so I'll see what I can do if anyone is keen. I won't be buying in bulk though and no guarantees but if you're keen, PM me and I'll see what I can do.
