Urgggh, Epic Games. As much as I like free games (and the Just Cause series), I don't need another game store in my life. I've got more than enough games in my back catalogue that I haven't played lol. Good spotting though and an awesome deal for those who want it.

Just Cause is a very fun game :)

I wonder though with the seperate store - do platforms like Steam etc. really charge such a commission on sales? I'm not as upset about games being more disjointed as you buy each seperately whereas TV it's a monthly fee....

Yes they do charge a considerable commission, but they then handle things like the CDN, authentication, and in steams case a whole lot of useful things like cloud saves and friend lists and things you expect online gaming to have but epic don't (well didn't last time I considered if I would get a game from them) - also gets you steam remote play if you can deal with the latency when playing.

Its one more launcher to have running, one more app that will want to update when I boot the computer up, another account to have that will email me trash emails I don't want, and not really needed for me.

I didn't buy borderlands 3 till it was on steam. Still haven't played it but bought it the day it was available to show support for games on there rather than other places that are less convenient.

I point blank refuse to even take free stuff from Epic after the Metro Exodus crap and their aggressive exclusivity campaign.

I now go out of my way to make sure I don't purchase games that are launched as Epic exclusives, and try and avoid publishers/studios that partake in them.

I loved the Just Cause series, but they got progressively clunkier, with either poor programming or taking on too much for the typical platforms they were developed for, or both.
