Huawei is accepting pre-orders for the new MateBook 13 in New Zealand from 13 August - I recently received one for review and this beast is fast (the model I've got is an Intel Core i7 10th Gen with 16 GB RAM). Beautiful piece of hardware, clever power button with built-in fingerprint so it turn the laptop on and login with one single push.

Just received the press release and here is the deal:

"The new HUAWEI MateBook 13 will go on Pre-order from the 14th August 2020 at PB Tech stores and online. The MateBook 13 will be $2199 RRP, but to celebrate the launch of the laptop, PB Tech will be doing a promo of $1899 and receive a bonus Huawei T5 10” tablet."

No, there isn't. This is the bit on the press release:

In terms of performance, the top-end HUAWEI MateBook 13 is powered by 10th Generation Intel Core processor. As well as upgrading the processor, we've equipped the HUAWEI MateBook 13 with up to 16 GB dual channel RAM. It also has a high-speed PCIe SSD, allowing creative individuals to express themselves without the burden of slow read or write speeds. Additionally, the HUAWEI MateBook 13 packs up to NVIDIA GeForce MX 250 with 2GB of GDDR5. This GPU provides all the graphics processing power to support image and video editing tasks, as well as entertainment experiences.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Looks awesome, might just sway me from the HP Spectre X360.

How far can you push the screen back?

Thanks @freitasm! Is the web cam located at the top of the screen? Sorry on my phone so it's not clear.

I was just about to pull the trigger on a gaming laptop but I might change tack with this. It would be a bit of a change for me with the small screen, and only 2 USB-C ports freaks me out a bit, but I quite like the idea of the integration with my P30Pro.

You can remote control your phone from the laptop as well as transfer photos and files from one to another. Really fast too!

Does this use the built in Windows Your Phone app or is it a Huawei specific Windows app? Oh the irony that Huawei is still allowed to ship laptops with Microsoft Windows on them but not phones with Android on them.... hmmph....
